"Excellent location; nice and peaceful; accommodation fairly clean; several cobwebs that should have been dealt with in the cleaning before occupancy; ensuite to double bedroom smelt of stale water because sealant around shower was missing in places; shower tray partially filled when showering due to hair down plug hole; bath in twin ensuite was extremely slow to fill and hair down that plug hole too; electrical socket behind bedside table was gaffer taped to the wall; had to move wheelie bins from under double bedroom window as the smell was horrendous, smelt like dead flesh therefore flies were in abundance; kitchen cupboards nearly all full of utensils so not a lot of space for food; some utensils not as clean as they could be; frying pan was a little rusty so unable to use; double room bed very comfortable; sofa and armchairs a bit low for us and not very comfortable; oven a bit grubby; plenty of storage space in bedroom; garden very pretty and well kept; the pigs were gorgeous; owners father apologised for bins under window, he washed the wheelie bin out after they were emptied by refuse collection, gaffer tape on socket, he explained it was difficult finding time to repair it due to lettings, also apologised for hair down plug holes very pleasant gentleman."

"The big plus about this cottage is the wonderful location, perched atop a cliff with lovely views to the south over the channel and to the west along the coast, where we saw some amazing sunsets.Large property with secure decked area to patio doors to front and beyond a secured mainly turfed garden. This was ideal for our 2 small dogs. Parking for 2 cars directly outside and property accessed by gravel road. Spacious lounge, adequate kitchen, decent size bedrooms and main bathroom. We didn't use the games room upstairs. The negatives were that when we arrive the place smelt of dogs, and although we have dogs, this smell was off putting. Soon had windows open and bought and used air fresheners which did the trick. Everywhere was clean, but the kitchen was dirty. Previous occupants had left a dirty greasy oven, dirty microwave, some cutlery marked and oven and work tops not clean. We had to spend a bit of time with soap and water to make it clean, which we shouldn't have to do.Otherwise a nice property in great location."

"Our purpose in choosing this cottage was two-fold: visiting a textile art exhibition in West Hampshire and visiting family in West Sussex. The location also gave us the opportunity to be in a rural area remote from busy traffic with simple walks along quiet lanes for daily exercise. S49591 was perfect, although the weather wasn't, but in January what can one expect? We thoroughly enjoyed the standard of accommodation it offered and loved relaxing here, doing nothing much, alternating with strenuous days of driving around two adjacent counties. We can't really comment on local amenities because they weren't a priority on this visit. But be in no doubt about the location; once the car could be left parked for the day it's a stunningly beautiful part of the country to either enjoy on foot or through a cottage window in a comfortable armchair!"

"What a great cottage!! Although we had rubbish weather while there, you could not fault the cottage which was very well kept, comfortable and fully equipped. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything (including a quarter pint of milk and some shortbread waiting for us!), and the shower had great pressure! We only had one dry day, but did a lovely 12km walk straight out the door. The cottage is on a working farm so my only warning is that the animals are very boisterous in the morning, serving as an alarm clock, particularly if you keep the windows open at night! There is a pub in West Meon, and two in East Meon, either direction not more than a couple kms. We went to Ye Olde George which was nice. A day trip including Winchester and Portsmouth is also doable. Would be lovely to return in better weather!!"

"We had a lovely 2 weeks at the cottage in August. It is spacious, comfortable and has all the equipment you could want. It has 2 local shops & big Sainsbury & Tesco is about a 5-10 mins drive away. We didn't use the local pubs as they are quite expensive, but there is a Hungry Horse, Pizza Hut & several take away shops nearby. We visited Portsmouth, Chichester, Brighton & Bognor Regis several times and enjoyed the sites and attractions they had to offer. The only things I was disappointed with was the original Hot tube wasn't working and a temporary one was supplied. This errored a few times and we had to google to find out what was wrong with it, most of the time it was just the filter which we replaced and then had to wash a few times. All in all we had a great stay in a lovely cottage."
