"There were a number of issues that arose. The first was the steep drive up to the house. This was covered in moss and difficult to negotiate without a 4X4. One of our cars got stuck and needed the RAC to get it out, whose driver commented adversely on the state of the drive. The owners pointed out that it had been very wet, but that does not mean they couldn't have tried clearing the moss to make access easy. There was also difficulty in manouevering cars in the car park. This can no way be described as adequate parking - we only had 4 cars and only just about managed, as some of our party couldn't come. I think the nature of the drive should have been more adequately described in the details of the propertyThe second point was s smell of gas in the kitchen. The owners arranged for a plumber to examine the cooker, who found no leak, but explained how it may have occurred. A note warning guests to watch out for this would have prevented our anxiety. The third major incident was a plaster fall from a ceiling. This could have caused injury if one or our party had been underneath. It appears that some rain had entered as there was a flat roof. The owners came the same day to clear up the mess, and remarked that tis was an unforseen event. However, maybe a more thorough inspection of the property prior to lettting the property might have identified a potential problem.Overall the cleanliness and equipment in the house were good, and despite the above frustrations we were satisfied with the house."

"S19191 is a wonderful, very well equipped house, with beautiful large bedrooms and 10 bathrooms to match. It was very easy to cook meals for 15 people with an amazing selection of pans and enough plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery to still have plenty even when the dishwasher was full. Ilfracombe is just a short stroll away and so family could pop into town at different times for the next cream tea or visit down to the harbour. It takes longer to get back as the walk is uphill, but we all felt fitter by the end of the week. The teenagers in the family spent most evenings in the bar room, playing pool or cards. The lounge was very comfortable and had plenty of settees and chairs. You can get to the coastal path, with amazing views, by walking up the path at the side of the house. We also had great days out surfing at Woolacombe Bay, fishing trips, pony trekking and playing pitch and putt. We had three generations of family and all really enjoyed our week."

"I'm going to start with the one and only negative - Before going we received a lengthy email from the owner - lots of do's and don't (also some good info) - this did scare us a little and made us feel on edge coming and what to expect. I'm not sure of the owner had people come before who didn't respect his property but my only feedback on this would be to calm down on the email and perhaps just keep it to the guest book. Once we got there all the concerns we did have went away. This is a beautiful place and very spacious. We love the old country fibe the house had and the views are beautiful. The house is very well equipped, there wasn't one thing missing. We love that each room had their own ensuites and the towels provided were very good quality. The bunk bed did wobble a little, so that might need to be looked at, also the Wi-Fi was good to have - although wasn't great depending where you were. Overall, we would love to come and stay again."

"Absolutely amazing property and Gilly was so welcoming too. Set in a beautiful location, St Michael and All Angels is a lovely place in which to stay, relax and visit many interesting towns, villages and coastline. The countryside is right on your doorstep providing for many forest walks. Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within easy reach too. The property itself is outstanding and is a truly wonderful place to unwind and pamper yourself. It is both luxurious and comfortable and is a real 'home from home'. The garden is beautifully maintained and has seating areas all around. I would love to return there again and would happily recommend it to anyone seeking luxury and tranquility. I would also like to make a special mention on the perfect welcome hamper - thank you so much!"

"S18813 was a perfect venue for our family to meet for a weekend. En-suites in all but one of the bedrooms were a bonus. We were blessed with perfect weather so enjoyed sitting in the small garden enjoying the lovely view while the younger members of the party went to visit Nobby the ostrich, who was a huge hit. The lovely town of Seaton and the Donkey Sanctuary are both within easy distance. The cottage was well equipped with just a couple of tiny niggles which were discussed with the owner and I'm sure will be sorted. We have 3 dogs and were able to bring them all, by arrangement, so that made our family gathering complete. Thank you, we had a lovely time."
