"It took us 1h and 10mn to get into the property since the owner, presently in Canada, had made a mistake in the code to open the keysafe. Even the caretaker didn't have the right code! The major problem was the lack of maintenance: a missing door knob meant that someone was locked in bedroom1 until the door was opened from outside, bedroom2 door wouldn't close. There are no usable wardrobe other than the one in bedroom1. The cupboards in the hall are full. In all bedrooms + lounge, there's a blatant lack of working lights. None allowing you to read in comfort! In the uptairs bedroom, no mirror or working light in the bathroom. Very restricted headroom that should be mentioned in the details. A door/curtain is a must between the bathroom and the bedroom. There wasn't a single torch or candle when we had a power cut at night. Moreover, when the alarm went off during the power cut, it took the caretaker over half an hour to find us the right code to switch it off! He obviously hadn't been trusted with this code either! He was no longer available in the middle of the night (understandably) when the alarm went off again, and didn't respond to the code, leaving us again in a nightmarish racket that lasted... until it went off , we aren't sure how!! Why can't the owners trust somebody with their codes? The house could be good but we felt very let down and not very comfortable at the best of times, since the very noisy heating system didn't seem to reach the lounge and upstairs bedroom at all."

"What a beautiful cottage in a stunning location. The pictures do not do justice to this property. We were a party of five adults and one well behaved dog, looking for a cosy comfortable property to celebrate a 70th birthday and we were not disappointed. The lounge is large and comfortable, and the wood burner kept us nice and warm when the weather turned cold. We enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen, as well as enjoying meals at the local pubs The Royal Oak and The Towy Inn. This village and its residents are the most welcoming to visitors, both human and four legged that we have ever come across in our travels. We loved the views from the dining room whilst eating breakfast, watching the sheepdogs in the fields with the sheep. We also were delighted by the Hawks and birds that frequent the garden. Angela, the owner gave us advice on walks and we were not disappointed, in particular the walk around the dam and reservoir were exhilarating and well worth a visit. The cottage bedrooms are furnished with quality bed linen and towels and the beds are so comfortable and stylish. We all fell in love with this cottage and would definitely visit again for another family get together."

"The location the cottage the homeliness of it all was lovely apart from the fact the WiFi and the heating and hot water didn’t work. The heating was hard to work and wasn’t working at all which effected our time in the hot tub as it was too coldTo come back into the cottage, the hot tub was one of the main reasons we booked it and didn’t get to use it as we liked to. Was meant to be under floor heating but didn’t feel any benfit by it It also made us uncomfortable we lit the cooker to get heat in the kitchen. Had three mobile numbers to call of the owners of there was problems only one answered, the man was lovely but he didn’t have a clue how to work the heating which was really unhelpful. He just said sorry. The hot water was a bit clicking has to fiddle about a lot with the monitor to get it working. Was really dissipointed as we paid good money to stay there and not as much as a slight refund or anything back. Was a lovely place just bad facilities when it came to the heating and water and WiFi :( was sad about it! :( :("

"Great area for exploring the sandy beaches of SW Wales. The staff at the hotel (who run the cottage) are very friendly. The cottage advert left us assuming the swimming pool was at the cottages - it isn't - it's over half a mile away down a lane I thought was unsafe to walk along due to it being so narrow and having no footpath. Once there the pool is lovely. In today's connected world I would have expected wifi and mobile connectivity as a must have, especially considering the overall price of the rental. A minor issue was the crockery and cutlery - looks like mismatched leftovers from the hotel. Again with the price being paid, I would have expected a nice matching set for the number of guests. There was a note left on the window sill telling us about the welcome nibble and tipple, nice touch except there was no tipple, only a pack of welshcakes. What could have been a nice touch backfired. The settees has seen better days and ought to b replaced. Overall it's a nice cottage and these minor issues will not stop me returning."

"A short break 5days/4nights with my partner and two dogs. The cottage appears to be a recent refurbishment in a rustic seaside style. The upstairs is a bit quirky with slightly sloping floor.Hard flooring makes for easy cleaning after the dogs deposit sand from their coats, this was a great plus for us as takes a lot of risk out of the stay with the dogs. The kitchen is well stocked with good crockery, glasses and kitchenware. Tea,coffee, milk and chilled water was provided for our arrival. The garden is split over two levels with a paved patio area leading to a raised larger grassed area. There is a small pond and a low wall joining to the gardens of the owners next door. This wasn't high enough to retain our Springer but their garden was secure. The pond has a mesh over it but not strong enough o support the Springer and our dog loves water.Heating is provided through out and is very efficient.Burry Port itself is a quiet harbour town with two great dog friendly beaches."
