"S24362 is a very quaint building in a good position for a walking holiday; it's good if you want to drive but who wants to do that when there is so much wonderful scenery on the doorstep? Some points that may help anyone booking, or thinking of booking, S24362:1. Stairs:The stairs, at the bottom, are very narrow so if you're unsteady on your feet it can be awkward using them.2. Bedrooms:BE WARNED.....the ceiling in the double room is pitched, and it's VERY pitched. The bed (quite comfortable) has a high foot-board which makes getting around it and the pitched ceiling a bit of a tight squeeze; saying that, I am a bit lad.Be careful when walking around in the bedrooms if you are of average height & above as you will smack your head! However we got around this and it added something funny to our holiday and it's fine when you get used to it.3. Bathroom:Good size and suited us perfectly; no problems whatsoever.4. Kitchen/Diner:Good facilities and everything you need to cook something to eat after a long day out.5. Lounge/Sitting Room:No TV....which was lovely! There is a radio which is all you need. There are a few games (we had a laugh playing Scrabble) which helps make some quality time with your group.6. Fire in Lounge:My little bugbear. We paid the £25 fuel allowance but we only had access to coal. There wasn't the small pieces of wood needed to start building the fire in the first place. As it was we only had one day where we needed a fire as it warmed up for the rest of the week.My suggestion is NOT to pay the £25 but get your own fuel (wood, coal, matches/lighters etc are available from the local shop) when you need it. We basically wasted £25.7. Porch:There is a drawer in the wooden chair in the porch....look in it and you'll find some binoculars which are handy.8. Parking:A parking space is situated behind the property. To access it just turn up the small drive between S24362 and the house to the left of it.9. Décor:A good standard of décor although it was a bit odd, if not weird, to have someone else's family photos all over the house. When going on holiday you want to feel that you are on holiday and having strangers' faces all around your accommodation is strange.A good amount of tartan, of course, but I'd change the paintings in the lounge to be more local or Scottish as they look a little 'English' to me...and I'm English, so I know these things!Overall:Well worth the trip, a good accommodation with some quirks but nothing to make your stay a bad one.We won't go back only because we've 'done' that part of Scotland now and have other places to visit but if we were to return then we'd use it again."

"We sort of fell in love with S24362. It´s interior is extremely welcoming and warm. The furnishing and the colors are all of a piece. I admire the taste of the owner (or whoever is responsible), as the eye meets real beauty. The old mill times are alive in this house, without TV, what we treasured very much. On the other hand we had access to the Internet (WiFi) for any important contact to our working life.Looking out of the windows you can see the coastal line. So even if it is raining ( what of course happens when you are in Scotland :-)), you always see the ocean, changing with the weather and impressing with the view of an endless horizon.Without driving there are wonderful walks possible, starting at the steps of the house. There are other neighbors around, but it is still secluded enough to make a healthy contrast to Berlin, where we usually live. It is still, quiet, nature pure. Our next door neighbor, who welcomed us at arrival, is a wonderful old lady, very helpful and kind. The only thing that could bother you is the 10km away located nuclear power plant. We knew about it before and made a deliberate decision to go there. Whoever looks for rest and peace is at the right place here."

"This was the most fantastic holiday in an amazingly beautiful part of the world! The cottage, a former croft, extended upwards and outwards over the years, is unexpectedly spacious as well as comfortable and scrupulously clean. There is a double bedroom downstairs with small ensuite toilet and shower and a lovely twin room upstairs, with a roomy bathroom. The kitchen diner has plenty of space, with a side 'conservatory' for sitting in and looking out at the small back garden that's bordered by a wee burn. All around are sheep and lambs (this was May) and the only sounds those of the birds, notably the cuckoo. Step outside the house and you can see the northern sea, enclosed by a the small bay of Achininver, where golden sea-swept sands await you. The local shop (2 or 3 miles) has a very friendly owner. Here you can buy the basics - the freshly-baked 'porridge bread' is just delicious! - but make sure you bring plenty of food with you, especially if you have a special diet. The shops close here on Sundays. I could go on about the beauty of the Kyle of Tongue framed by Ben Loyal and Ben Hope, but I really think you ought to go and see it for yourself!"

"The cottage was in a stunning location and well presented. The owner resolved the issue of the blocked shower as quickly as they could but it is a shame that the shower drains are not checked more frequently as it was really was very dirty. It meant that for half our holiday we had to share one shower not what we had paid for. Our other issue were the beds in the bedroom above the kitchen and downstairs bedroom the mattresses were so soft you felt you were going to fall out of them so my husband and I slept in separate beds thank goodness the other upstairs bedroom was ok for my brother and wife - we did not like to complain as we had already had to complain about the shower however we noted in the visitor book that several other visitors had mentioned the uncomfortable beds previously. A new DVD player arrived early in the week to replace the broken one that other guests had mentioned previously - the owners do their best to resolve issue as soon as they can. Other than that the property is lovely with excellent views across they Kyle - the Craggan hotel up the road did excellent food and were really friendly. We would visit the area again."
