The River Beauly which passes beside the village is one of the best-known salmon fishing streams in Scotland. The river also offers some gentle and picturesque walking around the village. If it’s fishing you're interested in, you can enjoy trout fishing here. In summer you’ll also find a Pipe Band in the square every Thursday, offering up a wonderful selection of traditional music. A simple and beautiful place, Beauly offers relaxing short breaks.

"We have stayed at the Beaufort Estate before in another lodge. Kennels Bothy looks great in pictures but is tired and uncomfortable in the flesh. Equipment in the kitchen is dire, like a scattering of old hand-me-downs, incomplete, broken, cheap. The fridge is ludicrously small and looks like an afterthought. The Hob and Oven are poor - considering this is a self-catering let and there is little in the way of food choices within anything but driving distance it needs to feel like a home from home - it does not. The cottage is in a beautiful setting and is picturesque to look at - it could be fabulous with just a bit of TLC. There were pest deterrents plugged into the sockets on ‘rodent’ setting which at first we didn’t understand why, however, 30 minutes after retiring each evening the loft space cane alive with chewing and scurrying to the point that we struggled to sleep. These were confined to the loft but unsettling nevertheless. There is no WiFi at the cottage and the TV is a tiny little thing that looks lost both in the room and the TV stand upon which is sits. WiFi is a huge oversight in such a remote location, mobile data is patchy to non existent and a number of days we had no way of contacting anyone. At a few £hundred a week to stay here, doesn’t seem unreasonable to put broadband in. The laundry facilities were also lacklustre, stored in an outhouse with its own key it has potential, however, there is no tumble dryer instead there is a clothes aired. Considering the nature of the landscape and climate in this part of the world, a good washer/dryer is less a luxury and more a necessity. To summarise, a beautiful location, a handsome cottage in desperate need of a refresh of the fundamentals to a comfortable stay."

"Having stayed at Beaufort Estate previously (Daisy Cottage & The Larder), we knew the cottage would be of good comfort & standard and Kennels Cottage did not disappoint. The cottage was clean, warm, spacious and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. The views from the lounge & kitchen across the fields and in to the distance were lovely. However, from a personal point of view, we were disappointed with the shower which has been badly designed/laid out. Between the shower hose stretching across to the holder and shower curtain edging in to the shower, it left no room to shower freely without 1 of the 2 (or both) being in your way or stuck to you. Also, the shower hose had a hole in it somewhere and the water pressure was low due to this. We stayed there for Christmas and on a cold winters morning, it would have been nice to have a warm comfortable shower to set you up for the day but unfortunately, this was not the case.On another note, the main bedroom would really benefit from having a wardrobe.Having said this, it would not put us off staying at Beaufort Estate again as it is a beautiful place with a very good location to visit the surrounding areas and attractions."

"Told not to arrive before 4.0pm, because we followed sat nav we enter the estate at the wrong end, so to get directions rang the number provided 3.50pm only to be told "they have all gone home" the person that answered the phone was kind enough to come out and direct us.The cottage was clean and tidy but lacked care and attention as listed below1. The fridge freezer although small was adequate but was on the floor and to see into the fridge meant getting on your knees 2. TV not working appeared not to have been checked top box signal showed Dec 20173. Toaster broken4. No full length mirror only mirror was in the bathroom head and shoulders only5. Pool of water under sink.6. No bedroom door poor design fault 7. Slate off at rear of bungalow hanging over the gutterAll the above seem minor faults but should not be there, just a little more care, we travelled over 400 mls Beaufort Estate and its a shame because this cottage is gorgeous and was let down by a lack of thought"

"Had an amazing week at S79604. The lodge itself well laid out with everything you would need. Comprised of living area with comfy sofas, dining room table and chairs, kitchen with everything you need - plenty coffee, tea, cleaning products, appliances really easy to use. Loads of cutlery, plates etc. A nice welcome basket of goodies. Both bedrooms were ensuite and supplied with towels of all sizes and bathrobes and plenty of hot fast water.Tv in livingroom freesat and worked fine. Plenty of leaflets of nearby trips and tourist attractions. Hot tub on the decking really lovely. The location of the lodge brilliant and the owner Willie - a really nice man and always on hand if you needed anything - and his Dog always visited and really friendly and a visit to see his chickens and ducks and a nice few freshly laid eggs.Would recommend 101% and would definately be back again."

"The cottage was a little run down and deff needed a little tlc. The view was amazing and although it was away from all amenities this was what we wanted. My main issue was the wasp nests within the house. I had very young children who were stung on more than 1 occasion. This meant they spent the week terrified and i was thankfull neither were allergic. I spoke to the caretakers who did come to deal with the issue but only spraying wasp spray around the entrance of the nests this went on for 3 days and they never actually dealt with the overall issue. I went mid July so I dont believe that was the first they knew about the wasps and this should have been dealt with prior to any1 getting there and dealt with professionally. I got the impression they weren't interested."
