"This was a fantastic property in terms of location, of course, and we really enjoyed our week there. The decor was nice especially in the bedrooms, the house was very clean and in general it was quite well-equipped. The only exception was the technology! We were surprised there was no Wifi, although if we had read the details more closely, we'd have noticed this. There is very little signal in Beadnell generally, so if you are happy to escape the internet and phone, this is the place for you! (We did get some phone signal, so all was not lost.) I think we just expected Wifi and it made researching where to go and what to do a little bit harder. The television is extremely old. The remote control doesn't work and the tv switches itself off three times before it warms up. So if you have scrolled all the channels for 121 (cbeebies!) and taken ages to do it, then you find it switches off after a minute, you might get frustrated. I see this property has been sold and I am sure the new owners will address this issue, as it is rather fundamental. Most people expect to watch a bit of tv in the evenings, especially in the autumn or winterwhen you have kids in bed. The property was great for our 2 year old and we enjoyed the toys and games in the cupboard. Overall, with a bit of technological updating, this is a good holiday home."

"This was the most expensive accommodation I have booked for a weekend and the poorest value for money. The kitchen was tired and not very well equipped. There were no tea towels left, no oven trays, the pans were poor quality. No additional comforts or welcome pack. No bath mat. It was debatable if one of the double beds had actually been changed from the previous visitor. This place has the potential to be beautiful and I think maybe it once was but it needs the owners to do a full inventory of the kitchen and restock. We came to do the Mighty Lakes Hike 26 mile hike for Macmillan Cancer Support and we expected the place to have all we needed for the weekend. I had to go and find oil from local store and we tied to dry up using kitchen roll! Not what I expected for the amount we paid for a two night stay. The decor is nice but we all felt it could have been a bit cleaner and more welcoming with a few extra nice touches.I have stayed at many cottages etc and had a much better experience."

"Loved The Hideaway, fab garden for the dogs and the accommodation had everything we needed plus it’s in a great location! I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but after my stay I have to say I think a lot of the comments are unfair - yes it’s a flat and you can hear some movement from upstairs, I live in a semi detached house - sometimes I hear my neighbours next door! Many comments about the bathroom and kitchen needing updating, it’s a holiday home - not a boutique hotel, it’s lived in but that doesn’t make it dirty! The hot water does only last for a couple of people to have a shower but the welcome pack has clear instructions on how to get more hot water! Comments about cutlery and crockery not matching - it had crockery and cutlery - enough said!!! I found everything clean, it’s lived in and so I felt at home! Would definately stay here again."

"The apartment was located in Beadnell, which means that everything in Beadnell was in easy walking distance, so location was fine. But the whole place was decked out with the cheapest possible versions of everything. Cheap cutlery, which bent, cheap cooker, which was irritating to use, cheap vacuum cleaner, which had next to no suction, cheap WiFi, which was useless for anything, the list goes on.The shower was good, thought had been put I to that, the beds were comfortable too, they weren't cheapo ones.In all the apartment wasn't a bad one, but quite a lot of its equipment needs an upgrade. The reason I wouldn't stay there again is because holiday lets in Beadnell or Seahouses are ten a penny, and it's easy to get a better equipped one for the same price. It wasn't bad, but there are better out there for the same price."

"Lovely, very clean and well positioned for the beach. Well equipped with everything needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay.Complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate bars, flowers and dog treat was a nice touch. On arrival I had received a text from the owner to advise the shower was not working and a plumber was ordering a replacement. This was a little disappointing, however the owner was quick to get it sorted and also gave us a refund. After a few days a new shower had been fitted, having little impact on our lovely break. Can recommend Lewis Fish and Chip shop, the Indian Brassiere and the Golf club in Seahouses, all providing amazing food. The Craster arms in Beadnell also served lovely food, although a bit pricey for certain dishes. Some starters were £9 and £10. Mains from £10."
