What our customers are saying about our Beach Cottages In Windermere To Rent.
Mrs Elvidge - verified booking
"Firstly, the cottage is in a fab location and that and the village is just what my husband and I were hoping for and without doubt our stay there was comfortable and very pleasant. I was very pleased it was so close to the sticky toffee pudding shop, I polished off two in two days! I was pleased to find the place clean throughout. Bedding and towels were clean and of good quality, and the beds were comfy. The kitchen had everything needed for my husband to cook as he normally does and was very happy to try cooking in the range, a nice touch. The decor was lovely and the pretty little nic nacks made it feel homely. I loved the downstairs bathroom! Great bath. The owners communication had been appreciated a lot, a good direction for beginning our holiday and the instructions we had gave us no hiccups. I wanted to convey my appreciation for such a lovely stay in Cartmel, and to the owner especially for returning my precious running shoes that I left behind!"

"The apartment was disappointing. It was the only place I have ever stayed in my 77 years in which the gas boiler was located in the bedroom, with all the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning. There was no carbon monoxide alarm. In addition, the noise of the boiler kept us awake at night. The furniture was of poor quality and was uncomfortable. There was no information/brochures about the local area; and no books of any type. It was poorly equipped. These days one expects a washing machine and dishwasher as basic equipment; neither was provided. To be charged over £450 -00 for an off peak week in this flat October, which was not a half term holiday, was simply unjustified. To end on a positive note: The owner , Tony, who lives upstairs from the flat, is a helpful and decent person. ."

"What's nice about Sykes is that you are allowed to book at the very last minute (like the day before)! So was chuffed we were allowed to stay at the cottage. The outside of the property doesn't do it justice - its absolutely lovely inside. Very warm and cozy. Milnthorpe is a great village with everything you could want - e.g. a good butchers, an Indian Takeaway, and two chinese takeaways, not to mention fish and chip shop and pubs to drink/eat in. The cottage is so close to Windermere and Lancaster, with lots to do and see. Would stay again most definitely, and would recommend this. The only downside is that it would not be suitable for wheelchair users (it's got steps and it's on a slope)."

"The location. Lovely old 2 storey house in the centre of village - full of character and charm. Little rooms, beautifully furnished and decorated. Cartmell is worth visiting at this time of year. S6913 is wonderful. We were the envy of other family members who booked other cottages. Loads of space. Parking provided in the racecourse. Bedrooms are pretty and the old furniture completed the decor. Quaint - some low beamed ceilings but very comfortable. We could not fault this rental. We hope to return very soon."
Miss Moira Leman, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear - verified booking
"This was our second stay at S3697 and it felt like coming home! The owner was there to greet us warmly as we arrived. It is by far one of the most comfortable and welcoming holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail in terms of décor and comfort are second to none and the provision of a large LCD TV with Sky+ was a real bonus! The showers are an experience in themselves and the breathtaking views from all of the windows will be sadly missed!"
