"This property has the potential to tick all the boxes, but sadly did not reach that ideal. The property itself is well laid out and comfortable, new carpets had recently been laid and with 5 TV's, DVD player and wifi. For the four couples that our group consisted of, it met the majority of our requirements. There was a nice touch on arrival with a welcome pack including wine, biscuits and a selection of cheeses, which was appreciated and a couple of days after arrival, Ray the owner turned up with a dozen eggs, again a nice touch. The location is quiet and the views from our bedroom were very pleasant. On the downside though, there were problems with the plumbing and electrics, both of which had previously been raised by earlier occupiers and still not fixed. Briefly these comprised of taps not working, 2 were replaced during our stay though. The downstairs bedroom shower only ran cold, until it was discovered, by chance after 4 days, that if you ran the cold tap in the basin, the shower then produced hot water. this still needed fixing when we vacated. There are problems with the dimmer switches at the bottom of the stairs and in one of the upstairs double bedrooms, causing the lights to flicker, go out and flicker again when you turned them. There was only sufficient crockery and cutlery to effectively enable one course meals. Not very good if you are having 3 courses and have to wash up between courses. There was however a good supply of wine glasses. There are 2 cookers, but neither are very good and the smaller one needs repairing or replacing. The other one blocks the saucepan cupboard, making it difficult to access the contents. A constant smell of diesel or heating oil in the property was unpleasant and needs to be investigated and stopped. There was also a broken lampshade in one of the upstairs double bedrooms, dead batteries in a TV remote and no spare bulbs, one blew. Our double bed could do with a new mattress and a duvet that fitted the bed properly. The property could do with some TLC and we felt that a price of around £1800.00 for the New Year week was quite expensive considering the issues we encountered. For that price, the property should have been up to scratch. The parking for 3 cars is quite tight and you have to reverse through a narrow entry and then manoeuvre at least one car into the space to allow the other 2 in. This could be a challenge for drivers without good spacial awareness.Despite the above, we had an enjoyable stay and would consider staying there in the future, but only if the work to bring the property up to the required standard was carried out."

"This was a short notice booking and I couldn't have picked anywhere nicer. It was simple and easy to book, details were emailed to me and I spoke to the owner re arrival times, etc. The cottage was much larger than expected (the photos didn't do it justice), was quiet, peaceful and had everything I could need for a relaxing, enjoyable break away from the rat-race. Beautiful garden to relax in at the end of the day and although the owners live in the adjoining property, I was left alone to just go about my business. Spotlessly clean, probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while away and a lovely welcome basket of fresh bread, wine, butter and milk to start me off. Centrally located to get to all the tourist spots but also within a few minutes' walk of a lovely sandy harbour/bay with clear water to swim in, beach huts, cafe and an excellent children's play area. I hope to stay at Spindrift again later in the year and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. A perfect little gem of a find."

"This property is in a good location to visit many of Dorset's attractions, Tank Museum, Kingston Lacy, Wimborne, Weymouth, Poole etc. House itself needs a bit of TLC as it appears a little unloved and in some places slightly dated. Bedroom doors though shut, would rattle when people are walking about, the plumbing was often noisy and some of the crockery was chipped and mismatched. We arrived on a chilly day but the heating hadn't been turned-up to reflect the low temperature, so the property felt cold, though afterwards the house was warm except the kitchen which always felt a little cool. We assumed this was because the Aga has been replaced with a range cooker, hence previously no need for heating. Leaflets for things to do in the area were available, but some were dated 2015 so the information was not likely reliable / accurate. Perhaps at the start of the season the owner should discard out of date literature and replenish with the latest information."

"Wow what more can I say ! The farmhouse was gorgeous and the farm itself was just perfect with the chickens and goats and horses. The children were made to feel very welcome and were invited to help feed the chickens and bottle feed the goats. We were even lucky enough to go horse riding on site and see hr old chicks. The greenhouses full of vegetables on site were open house so the children loved picking fresh veg, although my daughter wasn't keen on the yellow cucumber but happily ate the green ones. The farm manager and her daughter were wonderful as were the owners. We made use of the disabled aspect of the farmhouse for my 88yr old Grandfather and it surpassed all expectation.Overall a fab holiday had by all. Only downside was location as a bit far to certain places we wanted to visit and not many quaint tea shops.... Cannot go on holiday without a cream tea.Big thumbs up from all 7 of us."

"The cottage suited our party of 5 adults and 5 children, particularly the spacious bedrooms with ensuites. The downstairs living room is a little crowded for a big party but the kitchen is a decent size and well-stocked. The house is right next to a train track and level crossing but this wasn't problematic (perhaps because we were there over a quieter holiday period!). However, it's something to bear in mind if you are noise-sensitive. There are 2 fairly decent pubs in the immediate area, within walking distance but otherwise everything else is a car drive away. There was a lack of information in the cottage about keys, rubbish, heating etc and no information on the local area. It would have been helpful to have a folder of general information to help orientate guests. All in all a pleasant stay and good value for money."
