"The cottage was very clean, pretty and well presented. I had failed to anticipate the difference between modern homes and 400 year old cottages.... particularly the ceiling height (we left with four big lumps on our heads from the beams) and found it was often much colder inside than out (although there was a fire, radiators, hot water bottles, and lots of blankets). I also failed to account for the differences between where we live (takeaways, late night shops, organised entertainment etc.) and a small (but pretty) village with one shop that shuts at 6pm. The nearest supermarket we could find was at least a 20 minute drive. Some things not in the photos: the upstairs had painted floorboards (not carpet); the appliances in the kitchen were high quality, the shower was less so; the sitting out area was in a court yard surrounded by other houses; the beach used in the advertising photo (fairbourne beach) was a ten minute drive away, and not the beach within easy walking distance which was almost entirely rocks; the mattresses felt very firm. Finally, a general comment that the price of all holiday lets during school holidays is an absolute disgrace and this is why I didn’t feel it represented good value for money."

"We had a fantastic time staying in this Cottage it was beautiful and Annie (owner) had thought of every little thing -the attention to detail was amazing. I stay in a cottage every year and this is in a league of its own.The location is superb out of the hustle and bustle in such a peaceful environment with the beach just minutes away with easy access to everything and everywhere and a great train service around the coast to hop on and off at your will. The cottage was clean cosy and warm - i particularly enjoyed sitting in the little garden in the morning with my coffee just like stoning to the sea and the wildlife before the rest of the house awoke. A beautiful part of the world - this was a trip with my parents, partner and 3 year old daughter and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves Memories were made here and beautiful scenery that will stay close to my heartYou simply can’t be disappointed with this cottage my only regret was not staying longer"

"We stayed in Cae Glas for Easter, there were 4 adults and 2 dogs. Although the cottage is only 2 bedrooms, it is large, light and airy. The two living rooms have high ceilings and are spacious. The kitchen is south (ish) facing and gets the sunlight in the morning. It is also large enough for 4 adults to sit comfortably whilst a meal is being prepared. Having the log stove in the kitchen really makes the kitchen a place to linger in the evening with a glass of wine. The livingroom has great windows so you can see the sea and the great orme in the distance, when we were there the gulf course just outside was inundated with rainbows. It is a view to just kick back and watch it change as the weather does. Location wise – it is easy to get to and get out to explore North Wales. It is also in walking distance to a great little pub which did excellent pub food and an Austrian restaurant (which we did not try) I would recommend this cottage to anyone."

"This is a lovely cottage located centrally. It is easy to get around Barmouth and the surrounding areas. We took heed of the parking advice and managed easily to park at the station which was a 10 minute walk through the town. Cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen equipment needs a thorough check - many of the plates / cutlery were greasy and needed washed before use and on opening the oven there was a dreadful stale smell putting us off from using it at all. This put us off doing any kind of cooking at all in the cottage other than sandwiches/cereal and fresh fruit. Thankfully there are plenty of places to eat out in Barmouth but as a family who enjoys the ritual of cooking a meal together this was disappointing and the only thing that would put me off rebooking another stay in this cottage."

"Really nice well looked after cottage indeed. Clean, good sized rooms, kitchen fully kitted and log burner to keep us warm during breakfast nearby. Very family/child friendly - the attic became the games room for the kids - lots of board games, books and a DVD player. Superb view from living room and main bedroom, looking over the coast of North Wales. Well informed welcome pack and website to give us an idea of what and where to visit nearby. The property even provides a bucket and spade for the kids, a selection of tea and plenty of logs for the fire. The owners even called on arrival to make sure everything was ok. I would most definitely stay here again and recommend this cottage for couples and small families."
