Mr. TODD Wills - verified booking
"Great location for us, bit disappointed that neither of my children would go to the pub with me so we didn't explore the Star Inn but it looked very inviting Lovely cottage, really liked the layout and the way it had been furnished, nice details in the throws on the beds and sofa, good TV/DVD. Nice quantity of towels felt good and luxurious. Perfect for 3 adults and a dog particularly appreciated the dog shampoo left in the cupboard which meant a beautifully groomed dog after some very muddy walks in the hills. Information pack was spot on and good that opening times were given too – I went to buy meat for a Sunday Roast from the Welsh Venison centre so we avoided Brecon on a Saturday morning. Thank you for the welcome bottle and the Welsh Cakes (consumed at the top of the Beacons) – nice touch and appreciated, also the stock of teabags, sugar etc. We had a great time thank you and the property was perfect. It was in a great spot for walking and we'd like to go back there again. "

"Delightful place - lovely people. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very warm and friendly welcome by the owners and their manager who gave us complete privacy but were only a phone call and a five minute drive away should we need anything. The accommodation is of excellent quality - our party of fifteen plus two toddlers occupied the four bedroomed farmhouse, the two bedroomed cottage and the four bedroomed barn conversion - and were able to dine together in comfort. The two hot tubs were very popular. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and the delightful River Crai runs through the owners' land. Weather was mixed so on fine days we were able to take advantage of this being in the centre of outstanding walking country but when the Brecon Beacons rain persisted we had plenty of room to enjoy being together indoors and in the big play barn with its table tennis table. This was our 16th consecutive annual family get-together and we consider this accommodation to be the best yet."

"Your booking procedures are simple and straightforward, your service efficient. Description of the cottage accurate, (but we had been there before) As said, we had been there before—we would not have returned if not 100% satisfied. Cottage is beautiful, location quiet, views superb and the owners welcoming and friendly, without being obtrusive. The standard of finish is excellent, we cannot think of any deficiency; we greatly enjoyed our stay. Give it your highest mark! Hope to return, as we like the area, scenery being quite different to Cornwall, yet feels homely somehow---- perhaps because my Mother was Welsh (Born in Dowlais) and had family in Brecon, which I often visited as a child, over 70 years ago!"

"Tir onen rateA lovely cottage with beautiful surroundings, and sheep on your doorstep! Very close to the four waterfall trail in Ystradfellte, and also to Pen y Fan and Corn Du. The cottage is very remote, with no 3G signal and no WiFi. Take good note of the path into the cottage from the A470 once you are shown it by the host, because the postcode doesn’t help with locating it! Electricity is operated with a generator, which can be left on overnight if absolutely necessary, particularly for perishable fridge items. The cottage is well stocked with bed linen, towels, crockery and cutlery, and there are some condiments too. The host is very friendly and helpful! Many thanks for a nice stay."

"If it’s a get away from everything Holiday you’re looking for then look no further. Tucked away in the hills, no net connection until you reach the road, a peaceful idyllic farmhouse, stone floors, walls and staircase, surrounded by sheep, horses and cows. The nearest co-op is approx 5 kms away, a couple of take aways, great fish n chip shop. Set close to the Beacons this is a perfect setting. Rhossili Bay is approx 1hr 20 mins away. Plenty of walks, superb waterfalls. Very well equipped accommodation, basic and well catered for. We had a superb break, my grandson loved the stream which runs at the bottom of the garden. I would recommend. The owners were very accommodating."
