"1. The cottage was clean, neat, spacious, beautifully appointed.2. The grounds were also spacious with plenty of space for car parking and "sitting out".3. The location was rural and quiet - could be a drawback for some visitors since the access road was narrow and steep and the cottage is; in fact; adjacent to and forms part of a working farm. 4. The quaint, near-by village of Marhamchurch does not have a shop, but the town of Bude, only 5 minutes by car, has many interesting shops as well as amenities such as large supermarkets, petrol station, eating places, including take-aways.5. Bude is a haven of adventure, so historic, so interesting as well as a lovely traditional seaside with a beautiful sandy beach. We loved its character.6. You will not be short of things to do on your stay, whatever your interest, whatever your age. We travelled somewhere different each day and had a wonderful time and never went more than 20 miles away from the cottage - beautiful views, historic locations, wildlife attractions, gardens, sport - so much choice. There is a good selection of leaflets in the cottage for you to browse through, plus there is a tourist information centre in a large car park with easy access as you drive into Bude.7. As a base for exploring this area, this cottage comes with an enthusiastic recommendation from us.8. A bonus is the country park, children's play area and very charming bistro at the end of the road which turns off to Marhamchurch. We ate here several times and found the food, service and setting very pleasing indeed.9. However, the final word is one of caution - if you are not fond of cats, be ready to shoo away Smokey and Poppy who think they have every right to share the property with you. We are cat people so we loved having them around, but for anyone who doesn't like cats, it might be a tussle keeping them away - they think they own the place.10. All in all, we loved our holiday and will be very happy to return for more!!"

"Everything about this cottage is wonderful. You have a feeling of complete relaxation as soon as you step through the door. The grounds are lovely. We are a party of 6 and have visited this house numerous times now. You are welcomed with scones cream and jam, which is a very thoughtful gesture. The kitchen has everything you need and all the appliances work efficiently. The downstairs has a great hall where you can dump your belongings after a great day on the beach. The property is kept lovely and clean with three large bedrooms. The outdoor space is so ideal for playing games. Children can play in safety on the large grass area. There were numerous games left for the guests to play including a badminton set. Christine the owner is very helpful. She ensures that your have everything you need during your stay and is willing to help immediately with any questions you may have. There are two cats that visit the property which add to the delights of the week. All in all this is a very nice property and we love it and will hopefully be able to visit it again.Thank you"

"Located at the end of 1 mile of rough farm track, (a 4x4 would be useful)in the middle of a quiet but a bit run down farm, the cottage is spacious and was spotless ,the master bedroom with en-suite is superb the other bedrooms have single beds. The owners are friendly enough and approachable. The wifi does not reach the cottage, but it can be picked up by standing in the front yard of the owners house, we visited in early May which was wet and quite cool, so we were dissapointed the heating had been switched off, (locked boiler cupboard) this meant the bedrooms were chilly in the evenings and mornings, our towels didnt dry properly , the log burner did take the chill off the living room, but purchasing logs locally is expensive (over £5 a bag) which burn quickly. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need, even a weeks supply of tea and coffee was supplied. The views from the cottage are great, when it's not raining, but being at the far north of Cornwall, most of the main attractions are a long drive away."

"A spacious, well equipped house with a great garden in a lovely location. Wonderful views in peaceful surroundings yet close to a park, shop and pub. Several great beaches only a brief drive away. Sadly, let down by the cleanliness. Although the loos had bleach down them on arrival, everywhere was generally dusty (which I can turn a blind eye to, whose house isn't a little dusty?) but there was a hanky on the floor in the cloakroom, hair grips on the floor in the bathroom and thick dust on the side of the bath so I felt compelled to clean the bath and my cloth came away brown. A couple of towels were stained (fake tan one hopes) and some crockery dirty. It is for this reason alone that I would not return or recommend it to friends as it was otherwise perfect."

"This was our first time trying an extended family holiday and staycation and I think we chose well as Allybere is a wonderful spacious house in a quiet location and we felt it was perfect for us (6 adults and two very young children of 1 and 3). There's plenty of room and a nice garden for the kids to run around in with a patio for the adults to just sit down and rest. There are many attractions within an hours drive (just the right distance for the kids to have a nap) plus a nice local village pub that serves meals. There are also some good places locally such as restaurants, the beach, supermarket etc. All in all a thoroughly good holiday and we would have no qualms about coming back to stay again."
