"WOW ! - I mean WOW ! This property has the wow factor and more!, if you want a bit of sheer class, all high end equipment, stay here. A beautiful open plan lounge/kitchen/dining, so your can keep in conversation with family members - no-one shut in the kitchen!. Bathroom to die for, fantastic space/tub and sep. shower. The ensuite was the same but rather chilly as no heating - confirmed by another reviewer, just as Games room also mentioned on another review - fine for teens but could do with bringing upto same décor as main house. Neither of these were issue for us, we will deffo be recommending to friends & colleagues if you want a beautiful base near Seahouses area.We loved the Wandylaw development so much we took several walks around all the barns. Clearly The Stables is the most high end and spacious. I understand the owners also own The West Wing the adjacent barn/annex, so if you need a larger property, you could book both, and have sleeping upto 12 in rooms, and a 3rd bathroom. We really loved The Stables, I cant express how much, as a family that as 'lived' at CenterParcs for past 20 years with kids from 2 to now 21 yrs, grandparents in 80s, we have rented their Executive, then Exclusive, and once a Treehouse - I can assure you The Stables is of the their Treehouse standard, for a lot less cash!Plenty of walks, on quiet roads, dogs will be safe, large field incl in rental for sole use. Seahouse just 15 minutes away by car. Do take a dvd or two (some supplied), and we preordered a Sainsbury food delivery, though owners do supply tea, coffee, milk and shortbreads. Also you could preorder wood burning logs or buy locally after you exhaust the inclusive supply, we had the fire ablaze every night - beautiful. Underfloor heating can take while to reach temp, in those areas installed, but extra heaters provided in kitchen, passageway, 1st bedroom (I suspect only needed in winter, our visit was Feb during a frosty spell). If you want to be lazy and not cook at all there is a local take-a-way that delivers, via Just-Eat - pre-order and put feet up, watch a dvd infront of log burner .We will be back."

"Lovely cottage let down by the kitchen. The bedrooms, living room and dining room were all lovely with some nice quirky features. However, it seemed as if the owners hadn't got round to updating the kitchen yet. We stayed over Christmas and although the weather was quite mild the kitchen was freezing - even with both ovens going. There is a radiator but it's round a corner by the back door and had no effect on the kitchen at all. For a property marketed to sleep 8-10 people the stock of kitchenware and utensils was inadequate: not enough wine glasses for 6 people; no highballs etc, just a few mismatched tumblers. No oven gloves!(had to buy our own) Only 2 tea towels provided for a 4 night stay (had to buy extra). Plenty of knives, forks and spoons but not a lot else. Tin opener useless (had to buy our own). The cleanliness of the kitchen was also not great (the rest of the property was fine) - cutlery, plates and pans had obviously just been taken out of the dishwasher and put away without being checked and most were dirty. Such a shame that a lovely property was let down by poor basic standards and hopefully it was just down to the owners being new to holiday letting. One final thing - it needs to be highlighted in the cottage description that there is a steep set of stairs between the kitchen and the dining room (just so people are prepared to have to carry their Christmas dinner from one floor to the next). We would happily stay again (despite the kitchen gripes) as the location is great - nice local pubs, walks and a well stocked co-op round the corner."

"Belford is a lovely friendly village. The Black Swan Hotel was especially welcoming. We had all the amenities of the village but were close enough to the beach and countryside too. The house was spacious and quirky and the beds we're comfortable. The layout was difficult with a flight of stairs between the kitchen and dining room and some twin rooms rather than double beds would be better for families. Our teenage girls did not appreciate sharing a bed and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The back yard was not well cared for and there was no pleasant outdoor space. The worst aspect of the cottage was the noise of the plumbing. From the downstairs bedroom there was constant loud noise of flushing toilets and gushing water, including through the night. The first time we went to use the oven we found leftover pizza on the grill pan . The oven was not clean overall and complicated to use. We would love to return to Belford but unfortunately not in this cottage."

"Very pretty cottage. The only real fault we had were the beds. First night we slept on double bed downstairs. We both rolled into the middle all night. I think mattress well ready to be replaced. For the rest of the holiday, we slept in single beds upstairs. They reminded me of the hard beds I had as a child, still not comfortable, but at least better than downstairs. Would have been nice to have more luxurious bedding. Also, I could not find any cupboard or shelf space in kitchen to put items that I had brought with me! I saw someone in guest book had suggested fencing in a piece of garden for doggies to be off lead. That was a good suggestion. I have only marked location lower as, although the cottage was very central in Northumberland, we struggled to find anywhere to eat in the evenings in village. Nevertheless, we had a great holiday and would go again if the beds were replaced."

"Bayview is a lovely 3-bedroom second floor flat (lift available) in a converted mill. The views from the flat are superb - straight out onto estuary - especially if you like watching birds! The estuary is part of the Lindisfarne Nature Reserve. The flat itself is comfortable and superbly equipped - though it has to be said the beds are not made for tall people! The landlord has also done everything possible to make sure your stay is enjoyable and stress-free - with folders of instructions about the kitchen equipment, ideas where to visit, walk and eat etc. Parking behind the flats is more than adequate. The location is somewhat remote from shops, (although there is a Co-op 3 miles away - and Tesco deliver) - but Bamburgh, Holy Island, Berwick-on-Tweed and Seahouses are within easy reach by car. We would thoroughly recommend. Excellent value for money!"
