"Perfect cottage for us and the dogs! Warm welcome and thoughtful welcome pack, friendly owners on site (entirely separate house) but not at all invasive, just helpful if we needed them. Cottage beautifully presented, being recently tastefully decorated and refurnished. Warm and spacious, lots of hot water, kitchen well-equipped, comfortable beds, great views from every window. We made the most of the invitation to help ourselves to the freshly laid eggs! Fabulous bonus having not only an enclosed garden, but an additional enclosed field to run the dogs in before setting off in the car each day. Utterly peaceful location off the beaten track but still only 10 minutes from the small town, complete with 3 take-aways, useful Co-Op, pubs, ice cream shop and whisky shop! The cottage has Sky TV but no broadband or mobile signal, just as we were warned, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing! Please ignore pre-June 2016 reviews as the property changed hands then. Yes it is dog-friendly, but absolutely not "doggy" (ie, not smelly/dirty/hairy) for those worried that a pet-friendly place might be less clean. The cottage, garden and grounds showed not a single trace of previous visitors. We wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend, absolutely loved it."

"We have stayed at a number of cottages, but S22790 is by far the best! S22790 is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. It is surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. We loved the peace and tranquility. Also, there is so much wonderful wildlife; we saw deer, rabbits, grouse, squirrels and heard owls and foxes to name but a few examples. The cottage is very clean, extremely comfortable, very tastefully decorated and incredibly well-equipped. Although it is in a quiet, remote location, it is within easy driving distance of lots of great places of interest. The owners of the cottage are lovely. They are friendly, approachable and always very happy to help. Another great thing about S22790 is that there are pet sheep and free-range chickens in the grounds. We loved petting the sheep each morning and feeding the chickens. Also, the owners of the cottage are very dog-friendly. Our dog was made to feel like a valued guest. The owners even left treats for her. All in all, this was a fantastic holiday. We will definitely be visiting again."

"Huge big house with plenty of room. Great kitchen and bathrooms. Nice fire which we sat around every night with a wee drink and game of Trivial Pursuits. There was the bonus of a home cinema projector. I would say it was a good half an hour to Grantown on Spey and a good 50 mins to Aviemore. We spent most of our time there at the likes of Rothiemurchus and Landmark. There are also many distilleries very close by - Glenlivet is a 5 miniute drive away. It could do with a good spring clean and as the house is so big more than one person is needed to carry out that task. But overall it was clean and tidy when we arrived. There has been some serious money spent in the kitchen and bathrooms and the decor is lovely. The bedrooms could benefit from some wardrobes as hanging space was virtually non existent. The house appears under renovation in the rooms marked private and judging by the standard thus far, the accommodation will end up very nice indeed."

"Had a fantastic week at S22790.The cottage is really lovely. Tastefully decorated with lots of nice touches, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's incredibly well equipped. The lovely hosts, Sharon and Tony, have thought of everything to ensure a really comfortable stay. They were so warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, and they certainly went the extra mile, they even drove to the nearest town to buy calpol for our 1 year old who was ill one night! The location is stunning. Totally secluded, with amazing views of the grampians. Loved opening the curtains in the morning and looking out at the snowcapped Ben Rinnes mountain. It had the exact sort if get-away-from it all factor we were looking for and we definitely felt recharged after a week stag there. Can't recommend it enough."

"We were made to feel very welcome by Sharon and Tony, they have thought of everything that you would require at the cottage. It is very comfortable, especially the beds, and with the heating and woodburner, was as warm as we needed. The grounds are available for you to walk through, and there is a fully fenced area to excercise dogs, as well as the fenced garden at the cottage. Plenty of wildlife can be seen from the cottage, deer, hares and rabbits were daily visitors. The hens were very obliging in providing us with fresh eggs. There is plenty do do in the local area, or you could just relax and watch the world go by through the windows. Although the cottage feels remote, it is only a few minutes drive to local facilities and shops, so ideally situated."
