"This cottage is in a beautiful location, surrounded by fields regularly visited by deer and rabbits, and it's easy to find, and well placed for visiting much of Central Scotland. It's extremely peaceful and quiet, and while there are no shops in easy walking distance, it's just five minutes drive away from Bridge of Earn, and 15 minutes from Perth. Unfortunately, the cottage itself was a let-down. On the first night, the curtain pole in one bedroom fell down, and it was just luck that my elderly mother hadn't gone to bed yet, as the heavy pole landed on her pillow! The owners did arrange a repair for the Monday, but this meant we had to waste an entire morning waiting in the cottage for the joiner to come and do the repair. We were also told by the owners that they had already known the curtain pole was faulty, so it really should have been done before we arrived. Every one of us found the beds to be brick-hard and deeply uncomfortable, and the pillows very lumpy, so we all felt sore and sleep-deprived by the end of the week! The sofa in the living room seems to be a budget Ikea sort of thing, which feels quite narrow to sit on, and the two armchairs were lumpy, so it was impossible to really relax anywhere. This cottage is perfectly located for those with mobility issues, being all on one level and with easy access, but mobility issues can also mean that you want to spend a wee bit more time relaxing in the holiday accommodation, and the budget soft furnishings in this cottage meant that was impossible. The kitchen was constantly full of flies, so much so that preparing food meant constantly flapping flies away from the food, then hurrying through to the lounge with it to eat, as it would be impossible to eat at the kitchen table without the flies getting to your food before you! It's understandable that there will be lots of bugs in the area when you're surrounded by fields, but it would be a big improvement to find out where the flies are gaining access and block it up. The kitchen could also have benefited from some more equipment - there were enough pots and pans, but not a single baking tray to use in the oven. With some money spent to install properly comfy beds and sofa/armchairs, and the flies' access cut off, this would be a perfect wee holiday cottage, but the budget feel of the furnishings and equipment really let it down. It ended up being the most uncomfortable self catering accommodation we've ever had, and though we loved the area and the tranquillity of the setting, we would never book this cottage again."

"We've just returned from a week in the cottage, which sleeps up to four in two bedrooms - we were a smaller group of 3 + one dog. We chose this property for the location in a village with good amenities, as well as the secure entrance yard. We also had planned to travel with another couple, who would take the adjoining cottage, so this setting would work really well for a bigger group who wanted to maintain someone privacy or separate space. The village is beautiful and you have two parks, village shop, excellent butchers and two pubs within easy walking of the cottage. With small log burner, lots of space in the cottage lounge and dining spaces and two good sized bedrooms, this was a great choice for us. One long corridor connects all the spaces which gives lots of room for shoes, hanging space for coats. There was a great selection of DVDs fot cosy movie nights in and books to read. The parking space behind the cottage was perfect for us, even though the road nearby is quite quiet.Location is really well connected for travelling the area, visiting the Cairngorms, St Andrews, Pitlochry, Stirling, etc. and regular trains from Cupar (5miles away) mean you can choose not to drive. We’ll definitely be back again - a week wasn't long enough to see everything! :)"

"On our many stays in cottages around the UK we have never received such a lovely welcome before. The norm being a key safe, a code and let yourself in, approach. The owner, Lynne, met us when we arrived at the cottage and greeted us with such warmth we felt at home as soon as we stepped over the threshold. A nice touch was that Lynne then briefly gave us a heads-up about the cottage and Crieff in general (which we were later very gratefully for), and had gone out of her way to provide us with a superb welcome pack to make the sure we had everything we needed to get our stay started, there was even a bottle of prosecco was waiting for us! The cottage, beautifully decorated, with some very creative personal touches added by Lynne, has all the amenities you could wish for. Ideally located for anyone wanting to visit the great attractions and glorious countryside this area of Scotland has to offer, we highly recommend S78295 to make your stay memorable."

"S75254 is a beautiful, comfortable, superbly equipped house with a spectacular view of the sea, as the name suggests. We had a wonderful break in spite of the unseasonable Arctic weather, and thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Falkland Palace, Kellie Castle and a boat trip to the Isle of May, which we would heartily recommend to any prospective visitor. The welcome pack was generous and very much appreciated, and the standard of household equipment and facilities is absolutely outstanding; everything has been considered and thought through - it is rare to see a standard quite so exceptional. The one thing we missed in our location was a local pub or two; the one pub/hotel had closed a few months before our visit, and this is a big loss to the village.Overall though, an excellent holiday and an exceptional property."

"This has been, without doubt our best, and most memorable experience renting a vacation home in the UK. Bill and his entire family were most welcoming and so helpful. They took a very serious interest in our doings, as if we were longtime friends. They went over and above in every way possible.Let me say, in the clearest and strongest way possible.......this is a house you want to rent!!! The house is wonderful, spacious for even the largest family, and in the middle of a beautiful area. Wonderful....fantastic.....a truly unique place to be. We had the most extraordinary time. Lots of National Trust Properties nearby. St. Andrews, Falkland, Perth, Dundee nearby."
