What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Alnwick To Rent.
- Mrs Hodgson, August 2016 - verified booking
"We enjoyed our stay at Gabby Cottage. It had everything we could've needed. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of clean towels. The Cottage was clean and cosy. The enclosed back garden was good for the children to play safely. The parking would be an issue if there were more than one car. With this in mind, two of the adults travelled to Embleton by bus, then got picked up there to travel to Christon Bank. This wasn't an issue for us but might put others off booking the Cottage. The road through is extremely busy through the day, with drivers ignoring the 30 mile limit. Therefore children need to be watched closely getting to and from the car. There is not much to do in Christon Bank its self but it is a good base for easy reach of the coast and beautiful beaches of Low Newton and Embleton. The information left in the Cottage about places to visit etc was useful. There was mention of a welcome pack and also of a visitors book to sign. Neither of which we were able to locate in the Cottage. This caused us to wonder how up to date the information file was, but again, not an issue for us. We would definitely consider booking Gabby Cottage again for our holiday."

"The log burner is fantastic for warming and creating that cottage feel. The starter logs lasted the first evening. We bought more in Alnwick the next day. The heating made the rest of the cottage just as cosy. The beds were comfy and we all slept well both nights. The cottage was so lovely we opted to stay in and spend our weekend laughing and catching up. The kitchen is very well supplied with all utensils and we had everything needed to cook our m&s meal deals on the first evening. The second night we went to the nearby pub which is about 100ft from the cottage. They serve a lovely range of contemporary meals and we all really enjoyed dinner. We all loved the whole weekend and are planning to go back to the cottage next year. No negatives at all from this property or the owner who is lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful."

"Family break to Alnwick . Property at the top of a fairly steep hill. On street parking not necessarily at the door but we had 2 cars and always managed to get parked, House has a very homely feel and lives up to its name of being Cosy . Decor in keeping with the property. Kitchen is well equipped and although compact it has the feel of a family kitchen and opens onto the small patio area . Instruction manuals for all appliances kept in folder in kitchen. Rooms on middle floor spacious. I would advise travellers that access to upper rooms not suitable for elderly adults or people with mobility issues. There were board games and Dvds available in the living room. Great visits to the Castle, Gardens, and Bamburgh beach. Found the Black Swan great for food and service."

"The property is as described on your website, what it struggled with was the lounge does not have enough seats for the number of occupants in the property, so we brought a chair down from a bedroom. The low energy lighting in the living room is insufficient to be able to read by, so we brought lights down from the top floor double, Meaning there was only the main light in that room. We knew the property was smaller than others we had stayed in for 7, we accepted that. For 7 adults this place would benefit from just a couple of additions, including some larger saucepans etc. Overall property is in a good location, it was pretty much as described, its central location for Alnwick is good. It is a lovely area to visit."

"Cosy Nook is one of the very few holiday rentals which has been left with its original character in furnishing and arrangements. The furniture is attractive, comfortable and of an appropriate character for the age of the house, and the kitchen is lavishly provided with equipment, even down to high quality champagne flutes and different glasses for red and white wine. The rooms are of very generous size, and the main bedroom is tastefully furnished and decorated in matching styles. The only thing missing in the kitchen is bizarrely that there are no casseroles for the microwave. The house is about ten minutes maximum from the centre of the lovely little town of Alnwick. We will certainly return."
