"The Property internally is very nice for a 4 person family. It is well equipped and owner provides some nice touches. The bathroom whilst very small and having a small low sink makes up for it with a great powerful shower, there is no bath. The lounge/diner is comfy although I needed a crane to get me out of the low receding sofas. The main 'issue' which I did not really pick up on from the advert was that it fronts a very busy road junction with heavy vehicles regularly passing with no parking obviously, and at the rear there is no guaranteed parking space, it's a 'free for all' town car park. Chances of getting close (actually in a close space ) on arrival may be low to offload cases etc. But we were vigilant and usually got one nearby daily. Some people park right up against the rear steps making it difficult to access the rear door. Put the bin there to stop that!!Another issue is security, the owner has provided an external key safe but unless this combination is changed every week it is not safe to leave the keys in that. Too many people will know the combination. The main advantage of this property is that it is a few hundred yards from the harbour and beach and main street. At the harbour go to the right across the bridge to the holiday park and down the harbour r.h.side pier to the best bit of beach superb for kids sandy /shallow. Go left for a walk on the prom across to field, cafes, play area and smaller stonier beach. You can use the holiday park restaurant etc right there on the harbour. Best Restaurant was Jacko's. Went there 4-5 times again 100 yards from property. Fish and chip shop next to it. Indian across the road. Three of 4 indian restaurants all have the same menu obviously owned by same proprieter.Visit Culloden, Dornoch Beach and of course for a much longer day John o'Groats. Dolphin trips from the harbour and Loch Ness trips from nearby Inverness.I gave the property and location an overall 9/10 but I rarely go back to a place we've been before."

"This was the ideal location for my wife and me. It is remote enough to provide peace and quiet but close enough to Inverness and the A9 to make exploring the area very easy. It has a great view, overlooking a field to the Cromarty Firth. S24781 is a fantastic house. It is very clean and tidy and looks very fresh. It is obviously well looked after. The house is well equipped and the owners have thought of everything - from a range of games for all the family to good books and DVDs. They have even provide the instruction manuals for all the devices in the house (DVD, TV, CD/Radio, central heating, etc.) The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, so you could easily cook a full meal for a family. We used the cottage as a base for travelling around the area and returning at night. We covered locations such as the isles of Harris and Lewis (via ferry from Ullapool to Stornaway), Kyle of Lochalsh, Aviemore, Pluscarden Abbey and local attractions such as Cawdor Castle, Fort George and Culloden. Channonry Point is a short drive from the house. This is the best place in the UK to sight dolphins, but I must confess we did not see any (wrong time of year)."

"I had a very comfortable weekend stay with my dog. The cottage is just round the corner from the Links seafront and ideal for dog walking and general walking and access to the beach. Also many town food outlets and pub/restaurants in easy walking distance. During my stay I appreciated the quiet location despite being on a main street. The cottage feels like a detached house although "attached" to a property next door on one wall. Well equipped and with good Wi-fi and Blu-ray player a bonus. Lighting could be better in some areas especially the kitchen and lounge. I was comfortable but a large group might find the kitchen seating restrictive for main meals. The patio table at front of house not ideal for main meals. Easy parking on street round the corner - parking right outside only really suitable for loading/unloading due to near blind corner and no pavement. I would stay again and recommend for up to 4 adults or 2 adults/3 kids if eating in. Double bed and bathroom on ground level - stair not good for disabled. Shower room and 2 bright and airy bedrooms upstairs."

"This upside down house is a very smart place for ten to eat and sleep. Sadly steep and slippery stairs make it less than comfortable as the only decent seats are upstairs. We stayed as a couple and being elderly like to have a cuppa in comfort but it was difficult to navigate the steps with hot tea in our hands. There is a good view from the lounge windows but only if you stand up all the time.A lot of money has gone into linen and anodised cookware but it is a shame that some TLC could be used in other areas. A hair dryer, bread knife, patio furniture, b/b/q set and general repairs to toilet seats and broken fridge shelves, a brush and pan set would finish off what has been obviously a generous refurbishment.Would we stay again? I doubt it, we did not begrudge the rental cost but have stayed in far cosier cottages. But then we are pretty ancient and prefer comfort over design. As I have said it is an excellent pad for a large busy family who are out and about all day, but in our opinion not as a comfy, lazy getaway for two."

"Our family had a brilliant stay at S45071. Lovely house with a fantastic view from the sitting room window. Great kitchen well equipped, great bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Good for using as a base as we traveled all over visiting different places during our weeks stay. Sadly we didnt spot any dolphins from the sitting room window but we did see dolphins from the shore at Portmahomack and Chanonry Point. The local people were all very friendly, every time we were outside anyone passing by chatted to us. The local Spar shop was very well stocked and the shop assistants were also very helpful and friendly. The Balintore Inn is a lovely pub and the owner sat talking to us for ages when we popped in for a drink. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and our family would highly recommend S45071 for a holiday stay. Oh yes, and our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed their holiday at S45071 as well. Hope to visit again in the future."
