"My husband and I ('seniors'!) and our 2 dogs spent a week at S72695. We were joined for a couple of days by my daughter who used one of the bunks in the second bedroom. The annexe is joined to the owner's home and work is ongoing to develop more holiday accommodation on the site. There was plenty of field space for our dogs to run around (under supervision) and walks in the area and the owners say they have outdoor games etc. for families if needed. S72695 is compact with 2 small bedrooms, shower / w.c. and entrance hall downstairs and an open plan lounge/ kitchen / diner upstairs. It is very well appointed and is very clean -non of the doggy odours found in some other holiday cottages! A microwave and extra blankets would have been handy, although we could have used the very good electric heating; the owner's notes do say to ask if anything is needed and the couple are very welcoming and approachable. Laminate flooring makes for easy cleaning.Derril is a very quiet hamlet and is a few miles from the small town of Holsworthy which has plenty of facilities. We spent most days on the coast - Bude is around 10 miles drive .The Devon / Cornwall coast is a favourite and marvellous for dog owners. Like many places access to beaches may be restricted for dogs during daytime high season but there are loads of cliff top walks etc. Businesses and locals are very welcoming to visitors and our four- legged friends. We love Devon / North Cornwall and would not hesitate to recommend S72695 and our hosts."

"We had an excellent new year holiday at the S73829 in the grounds of Newstead Abbey. We were a family group of 8 people and the property was ideal for our requirements. The location is excellent with plenty to do in the surrounding area. We visited the Major Oak at Edwinstowe, Nottingham and Southwell Minster. The size of the property was perfect with plenty of room for our group to spread out in the different areas of the house. The kitchen is well equipped and we had several meals for 8 which we were able to accommodate. We were very impressed with the attention to detail in the house and the quality of the furniture and fixtures. Our grand children were also very impressed with the visiting peacocks and enjoyed feeding them each morning. Obviously being winter there was a limit to how much we used the garden area. However its easy to imagine how pleasant this would be at warmer times of the year. A very big thank you to Malcolm and Steve who did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated along with their advice and assistance when needed. We very much hope to visit the S73829 again at some stage in the future."

"If you want peace, isolation and relaxation, S81037 will provide all of that. We were looking for a property to cater for a family to celebrate an 80th birthday so were not worried about local amenities or attractions as the plan was to spend three days at the house. There is another house at the bottom of the garden which was nearer than the photos suggested however the views from the cottage are wonderful and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets. There are no local shops to walk to so we ordered shopping on-line to be delivered to the house on arrival which worked perfectly. The complimentary farmhouse food and provisions were lovely and we enjoyed them for breakfast. Papers were delivered each day by the owner which was a nice touch. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. The attic bedroom off the kitchen is really only suitable for children with low ceilings and 2 mattresses on the floor but we managed with the older teenage boys in there!Only minor grumble is that we could not find any BBQ implements anywhere so had to improvise and the umbrella on the patio had seen better days. Overall we loved the cottage and it was perfect for a weekend family getaway."

"We had the most brilliant New Year at S71497!This house is completely unique - a huge gothic, beamed, characterful pile right next to the Dunster steam railway and a short walk into charming Dunster. Each bedroom was very comfortable and 100% clean. Unusually there are lots of bathrooms - which is brilliant when you have a large group. Similarly, the hot water and heating all work perfectly so we were never cold. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and we really enjoyed cooking each day. There’s a great selection of DVDs and the sauna was great too. The beach is close and we went on lovely a walk in Exmoor. Dunster is very charming and also just a short walk away. We really can’t recommend S71497 enough. The owners were extremely kind and responded to messages very quickly. We really look forward to coming back one day!"

"This cottage is a stone barn recently converted to a high standard. For the two of us and our small dog, there was plenty of room and a self contained garden for the dog.Very clean and tidy.Good safe parking. The Cottage was located in the middle of the village with a very nice pub just a short walk away. There was also a village shop with a cafe which was well worth a visit. (As this was a fairly new barn conversion there was some of the decoration needed 'snagging') The only down side of the location was for us as keen hill walkers, due to the very large Army Otterburn training area, there was a fair distance to get into the near by Cheviot hills and moorland. That said there are local walks. Towards the end of our two week holiday the weather turned wet and cold but the cottage proved to be warm and cosy."
