The property is approached through a pillared, wrought iron gated entrance and up a driveway, leading to a substantial expanse of parking. There are large, lawned gardens on the approach. At the front of the cottage, there is a broad, paved terrace with steps down to the more formal lawned garden, affording views of the Cader Idris range and the Mawddach Estuary, with a pond filled with bushes and bordering pastureland. There are numerous seating areas from which to admire the beautiful surroundings, including the sheltered loggia and a picnic table on the raised decking. This whole area is a haven for walkers and climbers, while the coastal town of Barmouth is just five miles away, with a beautiful sandy beach and an array of shops, pubs and restaurants. It is also ideal for sailing and watersports enthusiasts, whilst the area provides some brilliant mountain biking opportunities such as Coed-y-Brenin, the largest mountain bike trail centre in Wales, just nine miles away. A few maintenance issues, particularly in the the ground floor bathroom but didn't detract from a great stay. If only the cleaners would just occasionally clean the shower waste trap in the en suite, very unpleasant! Would go again.

Very comfortable and beautiful surroundings. Wasnât very easy to find on arrival though! Although the house is situated on a busy road you donât actually hear any noise from it. We had a couple of problems whilst staying but the owner responded quickly and tried to get things sorted for us. Unfortunately the dishwasher wasnât working so had to wash up for 8 of usâ¦.! Overall the property is lovely. Just a couple of things to say, although the property was clean, all the toilets hadnât been cleaned around the pedestal and they all had urine down them. Also the water taps have an air lock so it is very noisy when running hot taps. Lots of cobwebs and spiders everywhere! But in a positive we would stay again as a lovely house and a good base for getting out and about.
