Guests have consistently praised the cottage at 7 Bell Street for its cosy charm, homely feel, and thoughtful touches. The property is well-equipped and ideally situated for exploring the Brecon Beacons, with local amenities close by. Despite some minor issues, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment, with many guests looking forward to returning.
The cottage is frequently described as clean and tidy, with one review specifically noting it as 'emaculately clean'. This suggests a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The location is highly praised for being central, convenient for local shops and eateries, and an excellent base for walking in the Brecon Beacons. Its position in a quieter side street adds to the appeal.
Comfort is a recurring theme, with mentions of a cosy living room, comfortable beds, and a homely atmosphere. However, there are minor comments about a squeaky bed and less comfortable sofas, slightly affecting the score.
While guests are generally pleased with the facilities, there are mixed comments about the bathroom and kitchen. One guest mentioned water ingress during heavy rain, and another noted the need for a slip mat in the shower. Due to these maintenance issues, a definitive score cannot be provided.
The owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, with several guests mentioning welcome gifts such as Welsh cakes, chocolates, and homemade jams. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed.

Talgarth is a town baring a 13th century peel tower, now the village Information Centre, and a 14th century church, it was also once inhabited by Romans. The village offers gliding, pony trekking and walking opportunities through the Black Mountains. The rivers Ennig and Ellywe run through the village, it is also home to the Pwllwrach Wood, said to bare a lake where witches were drowned. Talgarth has two gastro-pubs, a cafe and shops to enjoy at your lesure. The Tabernacle venue hosts many events, the village really does cater for everybody. The popular town of Builth Wells is within easy access and is certainly worth a visit, as is Llandrindod Wells slightly further north.

We found the cottage spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, and Jo and Martyn had obviously thought of everything in order to make our stay a good one. They certainly achieved that! The courtyard was a little piece of heaven on earth, so tranquil and attractive. There was plenty of information available on places of interest locally, places to eat and attractions in and around Powys.......all very helpful to help plan a successful and happy holiday. Our thanks to Jo and Martin for ensuring our first stay in the area was a memorable one. We will most certainly return.

The cottage was a great place to use and provided everything we needed for our stay. Talgarth is a lively and engaging place - even at the beginning of February! With cafes, pubs, shops and even a museum, it has enough to keep you occupied locally, and it is excellent walking country, but it also made a great base for frequent visits to Haye-on-Wye to shop for books.

Cosy and well-equipped. Lots of great books and the cottage was really well decorated. I enjoyed the whole week away and it was a lovely base for exploring the surrounding area.
