Guests say

The Old Post Office in Cemaes Bay offers a well-equipped, cosy stay in a beautiful seaside location. Guests appreciate the proximity to sandy beaches and local amenities. While some guests encountered issues, the property's charm and the owner's responsiveness are noted positives.

Cleanliness has been a concern for some guests, with reports of dog hairs, dirty sofas, and unclean floors. However, others found the property to be clean, indicating inconsistency in this area.

The location is highly praised for its close access to beaches, shops, and pubs, making it an ideal spot for guests looking to enjoy the seaside and local attractions.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the beds are described as comfy and the property cosy, issues with light in the bedrooms and seating arrangements have been mentioned.

Facilities are adequate but have room for improvement. Guests have faced challenges with TV operation, lack of dining space, and maintenance issues like a broken shower door and confusing kitchen appliances.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the host, aside from a basic welcome pack.

About this property

The Old Post Office 23 High Street is a two-storey annexe that has been converted into a quality and modern holiday home, situated in the village of Cemaes Bay on the north coast of Anglesey in Wales. Ideal for couples wanting a relaxing break, there are wooden floors throughout and the kitchen, tiling and light fittings give a very contemporary and clean feel to the property. On the first floor are two beautiful double bedrooms. This property provides one shower room and an open plan combined kitchen, dining and seating area with a sofa, armchair and Smart TV where you can relax. Being located on a central high street, there are shops and pubs right on the doorstep, giving you quick access to anything you need. When leaving the property, you are just a short five-minute walk to the beach and coastal pathway, beyond that you can take a 10-minute drive to the local Red Wharf Bay or town of Benlech. There are ample opportunities for long leisurely walks along the coast, the chance to visit local monuments and churches and explore the fishing harbour. Also angling charters are quite popular in this area, and if guests are able to get good weather and calm seas, then a day’s fishing on the water is a relaxing experience. Ideal for a couple or small family, this well-furnished and modern property is ideal to get away to the Welsh coast for a few days or more.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the beautiful North Anglesey Heritage Coast, the pretty seaside village of Cemaes Bay is home to three pubs, shops, an award-winning chip shop, a cafe and Visitor Centre, a natural sheltered harbour and a sandy beach edged by grassy cliffs, ideal for safe bathing and family fun.

Disappointed that you seem to take no responsibility.

My advice is to always read the reviews. I read them after arriving and they generally agreed with us re some of the issues. Confusing instructions for TVs. Blinds in bedrooms make it too light to sleep. But the biggest issue was cleanliness. Sofas dirty and dog hairs. Oven had greasy pan. Fan in bathroom covered in dust. Floors not clean/hoovered. Dog hairs in bedroom. Always used Sykes but this was very disappointing experience. Would have complained to Sykes during holiday but unsure what would happen as where else would we stay at short notice! ? Basic welcome pack. 3 TVs only one of bedroom TVs worked. This meant we could not watch a film as a family in evening so teenager was able to escape to his room instead. With minimal effort this could have been a better experience. But it was a really disappointing holiday home. A shame as it is right next to Cemaes Beach.
