Guests say

Simdda Wen Cottage in Holyhead, Anglesey, is a well-received holiday rental with a secure garden, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the friendly owner, and the neighbour's local knowledge. While some found the mattress too soft and mentioned a damp smell, the majority enjoyed their stay, highlighting the property's charm and the welcome basket.

The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with multiple reviews praising the standard of cleanliness. One review mentioned a musty smell, but this seems to be an isolated comment, as it is not corroborated by other reviews.

The location is generally well-regarded, with guests appreciating the proximity to beaches and local amenities. However, some noted limited dining options early in the season and the absence of nearby attractions for children, slightly affecting the score.

Comfort is highlighted positively in several reviews, with guests finding the cottage cosy and well-appointed. However, there are a few remarks about the softness of the mattress and the water pressure, which suggests room for improvement.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. There are some minor comments about the need for larger towels and a pizza cutter, and one mention of a boiler issue, but overall, guests are satisfied with the facilities and maintenance.

The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the welcome basket and the provision of cleaning products and other amenities. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

One little thing was the ground floor bedroom door would not shut, and the lounge door into the porch did not stay shut.

Super garden which the dogs were safe to roam. Cottage had everything needed for a great stay.

It has everything that you needed for a lovely little break. We spent a bit of time at Cemaes Bay as this was the easiest place to get to with a few shops and bars. It was a shame that the Black Lion public house is not open anymore as we like to take the dog on nice walks from the base and unfortunately due to the roads around the area and there being no pub nearby we couldn’t really do this. We did however have May nice walks on the Wales Coastal path and visited Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay.
