Guests say

Seascape Villa in Filey is highly praised for its luxurious feel, spaciousness, and prime location close to the beach and town amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches like robes for the hot tub. While there are minor observations on furniture robustness and a need for better instructions, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests planning to return.

Reviews consistently mention the property being very clean, with only a single mention of a blocked vacuum cleaner. The cleanliness is often highlighted as a positive aspect.

The location is frequently praised for its proximity to the beach, shops, and local attractions like the Filey Gin Distillery. It is described as perfect and central, contributing to the property's appeal.

Comfort is a strong point with guests mentioning comfortable beds and a warm house. However, there are some concerns about the robustness of the furniture, which slightly affects the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen equipment and hot tub. However, there are comments about the need for more cooking utensils, issues with TV signal, and a broken shower, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.

Guests are delighted by thoughtful gestures such as robes for the hot tub, bread and milk on arrival, and quality toiletries. However, it is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

At any time of year, hikers and wildlife watchers will find Filey, a classic English coastal town with a welcoming vibe and relaxing vacation options, to be the perfect base camp. The coast of Yorkshire boasts this hidden beauty. A Victorian-era resort, Filey is a North East Coast fishing town known for its stunning sands and small rockpools at nearby Filey Brigg. The low headland of Filey Brigg serves as a natural barrier for Filey Bay and is a popular spot for birdwatchers and marine observers throughout the year. Over 250,000 seabirds spend the summer on the 400-foot-high Bempton Cliffs (rspb Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay. Some of the birds that make their homes there include gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, gulls, and razorbills. In Filey Bay, you may often spot gannets swimming and diving for food. Common and uncommon waders, seabirds, and migratory warblers, finches, and thrushes may all be seen in the Brigg region. Seabirds, seals, porpoises, dolphins, and even minke whales have all been spotted in the waters near the Brigg. The town itself retains much of its uniqueness, with unique stores, small roads, and ginnels, making it look if it was frozen in time. During the summer, visitors may rent out charming beach cabins near a little coble landing and a slipway where local fisherman keep their boats. On Sunday afternoons, you may stroll along one of the two promenades that border the sea or relax in one of the many gardens where brass bands perform. Here, you may enjoy some crazy golf and sugar floss in a friendly, family-oriented environment. There is also the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland area where migratory birds including swallows, sand martins, and house martins congregate in the fall. In addition, the hidden treasure of Parish Wood (accessible through Sycamore Avenue) is home to an abundance of flora and fauna. Breeding willow warblers, chiffchaffs, blackcaps, and tree sparrows, as well as a plethora of other species, including great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks, are common sights there. Goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes, and woodcocks are just a few of the migratory bird species that use Parish Wood for cover and food. Scarborough, a larger town not far away, is home to a unique waterpark in the UK called Alpamare Waterpark, and the surrounding region is full of wonderful things to see and do with the family.

Very clean and tidy had everything we needed. The only criticism is the dining chairs are a bit precarious when you lean back on them, we had one member of our group fall backwards other than that can't fault this property good time had by all.

Slow draining sink on top floor only

The extra large dining table was excellent for a large group to sit round and have an after dinner chat, or in our family’s case the whole evening sitting there with a glass of wine reminiscing. I even cooked a Sunday roast for 11 people once I’d mastered how to turn the oven on. Instructions were provided. The house is close to the beach and to the shops. Filey is a thriving little seaside town. On street parking can be a problem on busy days although 2 parking spaces are provided. Hope to come back next time we are in the UK.
