Guests say

Guests consistently praise The Stables for its cleanliness, peaceful rural setting, and the warm hospitality of the owners, Jim and Rachael. The property is described as comfortable, well-equipped, and beautifully furnished, providing an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and coast. The thoughtful touches, such as fresh bread and Prosecco, have been well received, although they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Reviewers frequently mention the immaculate condition of the cottage, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness that contributes positively to their overall experience.

The property is commended for its quiet, rural location that is still convenient for visiting nearby towns, attractions, and the coast, making it an ideal retreat for guests seeking both tranquillity and accessibility.

The majority of guests find the cottage to be very comfortable, with only a single mention of a mattress being too stiff, which suggests that comfort levels are generally high.

Facilities are described as excellent, with everything required for self-catering and a high standard of furniture and equipment. One minor suggestion for a cheese grater indicates that the facilities are well-maintained and nearly complete.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful gestures such as fresh bread and Prosecco, which add to the welcoming atmosphere of the cottage. However, as these gifts are mentioned in only a few reviews, they are noted as a delightful bonus rather than a standard offering.

At the breakfast bar are some rustic tractor seat style stools facing the well-equipped kitchen, with an abundance of light throughout. Find all the appliances you need here, as well as a dining table and chairs, with the original wooden beams holding up the apex ceiling above. Choose from either of the two lovely bedrooms, one a super-king and the other a king-size, both served by the neat bathroom which has both a bath and a walk-in shower. For a country getaway with friends stay at The Stables in scenic East Yorkshire. Note: This property is part of a group with Refs. 1049480 and 1049481, together sleeping up to 8 guests.

The seaside resort of Bridlington lies on the east coast of Yorkshire, south of Scarborough and Filey. Two award-winning beaches of golden sand stretch out on either side of the historic harbour, bustling with activity. Beautifully designed promenades provide everything from fun-fairs to quiet places where you can sit and watch the world go by. Shops, attractions, restaurants and the historic 'Old Town' of Bridlington offer a fascinating contrast to life on the beach, where the latest Dad's Army has been filmed, whilst the Bridlington Spa Theatre on the front provides evening entertainment. There is also the East Riding Leisure Centre, with family swimming area and a variety of other indoor activities. Further afield are the picturesque villages and scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds, the neighbouring resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby and the spectacular heritage coastline. There are numerous places to visit in the area, including Bempton's rspb bird sanctuary, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke and Flamborough Head with its cliffs and caves. A great area for bird and nature lovers, or simply for touring.

Our only gripe is that we found the double bed too hard and un-comfy - obviously it's our preference, perhaps get a memory foam topper to soften it a little for us sensitive souls :) The location is great, near the coast and countryside which worked well with our 10 year old and our dog. The courtyard does not have a fence, which meant we had to keep our dog on a lead in the back garden so that he didn't wonder out of the main gate and onto the road. A fence separating the carparking area and the garden area would take this property from a 4.5 start to a 5 star for me.
