About this property

Evesham 4.4 miles.Positioned directly opposite the ruins of a Norman chapel, this unique cottage is the perfect place to relax, enrich yourself in history, go walking or visit beautiful nearby towns and villages.

Found in the beautiful countryside of South Worcestershire next to Bredon Hill, but very close to the small market towns of Evesham and Pershore and a 30 minute drive from Cheltenham or Worcester, this property gives ample opportunity for day trips by car or walking in beautiful and varied countryside. Bredon Hill is a Cotswold outcrop perfect for walkers whilst the Cotswolds themselves are a short drive away. The River Avon flows close by and offers pretty walks or the rugged Malvern Hills are about 40 minutes by car, offering good picnic opportunities and wonderful views. There are some excellent restaurants nearby: Eckington Manor near Pershore and Russells or the Dormy House in Broadway. Or, if you want to eat in, you can pick up food from several good independent food shops in Pershore, various farm shops nearby or supermarkets in Evesham. Converted from a coach house and situated near to the farmhouse belonging to the owners of the cottage, this property is all ground-floor, allowing you to take in the stunning scenery from ground level no matter what window you look out of. With a king-size bedroom, this property is ideal for a couple looking for a weekend away with the dog to explore fantastic walking routes and astonishing natural settings. The open-plan living area consists of kitchen, dining, and sitting room, a spacious area to laze away the evenings with your loved one. Outside is an enclosed area comprising a paved patio and a lawn, for the dog to run around whilst you relax with a glass of wine with your favourite book. This property offers a tranquil trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Netherton, the hamlet in which the cottage is situated, is mentioned in the Domesday Book and has been occupied and farmed continuously for thousands of years. Roman remains have been found at the farm and the local area is steeped in history with beautiful Pershore Abbey, the remains of Evesham Abbey and Tewkesbury Abbey all nearby. Several National Trust properties are also easy to visit. To find out more about the local history, head to the Pershore Heritage Centre, or Evesham Almonry, which details the vision of Eve which led to the founding of the abbey at Evesham, later sacked by Henry VIII. If you feel like venturing out a little further, head to the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering picturesque picnic areas on rolling hills with some of the best country views in the UK, it’s a must-see for all keen walkers. Lovells Vineyard, where you can learn about and sample award-winning wine before you head back to your charming cottage for the evening, is in Welland near the Malvern Hills. Chapel Cottage is in a lovely location, the perfect place to spend quality time with your partner.

The market town of Pershore can be found at the edge of the River Avon, presenting amazing architecture, shopping experiences, and a large variety of places to eat both in the local area and further out in the area of Worcester. Just a short drive from the Cotswolds, this town offers fantastic views and walking routes in beautiful locations. With plenty of routes to famous and fabulous neighbouring towns such as Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltnam, Pershore is the perfect place to spend your retreat.
