Guests say

The Cheese Room is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and thoughtful touches, including a welcome hamper. Set in a peaceful village, it's an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds. Guests appreciate the friendly hosts and well-equipped cottage, though some noted the bed's creakiness and the outdoor space limitations.

Guests consistently describe the property as spotless and extremely clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the cottage.

The location is celebrated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions in the Cotswolds, though the lack of nearby shops is noted. The village's quietness and the ease of accessing country walks contribute to the positive feedback.

The cottage is frequently described as cosy and comfortable, with a well-equipped interior. However, some guests mention a creaky and unstable bed, which slightly detracts from the overall comfort score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a generous welcome basket and a well-appointed kitchen. However, comments about the lack of an oven and the need for more consumables like coffee pods and dishwasher tablets suggest room for improvement.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with several mentions of a welcome hamper and other extras. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that such offerings are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely welcome pack on arrival and the kitchen whilst compact has everything you need Nice touches like cheese in the fridge and fresh milk plus delightful toiletries in the bathroom The stairs to the bedroom are steep but as long as you are aware of that before booking it shouldn’t be an issue as what you find upstairs is the comfiest of beds! The village is very quiet and very pretty, and the plough Inn is a 2 minute walk away where the happy hour 5-7pm is available. Food is nice too. We enjoyed our stay very much and left feeling relaxed and recharged

Lucy & Andy, the owners, live next door and are on hand for any assistance but leave you to yourselves otherwise. The cottage is quaint, really nicely decorated and all of the space used well. The village is very quiet with just a pub and no shops, but the pub food was great, and it is only a short drive to the next town to go shopping. There is so much to do in the Cotswolds and the location of this cottage is ideal for getting anywhere, being only a couple of minutes drive from the main A road, taking you to all the sights of the area. Highly recommend The Cheese Room for a stay in the Cotswolds!

Our host Lucy was lovely and popped in to see us and gave us some recommendations on restaurants etc. Location is quite central and only a 10/15 min drive to the nearby towns. 4 nights was perfect but could have easily stayed for longer. Thanks Lucy & Andy!! Regards, Annabelle & George
