About this property

"This is a really charming place - sundowners on a balcony overlooking countryside, walks from the door, well designed and equipped and with a lovely host. It really is magical if you want to experience peace and quiet in the Suffolk countryside (and is also within very reasonable reach of the coast)" - Elspeth MacArthur

A blissfully secluded wood-panelled lodge enveloped by vibrant wildflowers and boasting tranquil views across the Suffolk countryside. This romantic bolthole is the perfect escape into nature for couples and their waggy-tailed companions. Peruse the beautifully landscaped grounds of Helmingham Hall Gardens (3.5 miles) with graceful arched bridges, an orchard, and fresh vegetable plots. Returning home, step onto the balcony with a chilled glass of fizz and toast to your occasion against a beautiful backdrop.

This unique hideaway features an airy country interior with bright neutral tones, earthy wooden panelling, and light-flooded rooms. After a day of adventures, park up on the leafy gravel driveway then ascend the barn staircase to the front door. Towel off soggy paws before venturing into the lounge/kitchen/diner. Foodies will be in their element experimenting with local produce in the striking shaker kitchen. Crack open a tipple and perch at the glossy marble-topped island to blether as the resident chef cooks up a storm. While away evenings feasting around the dining table or throw open the balcony doors for an al fresco affair. As the evening draws in, snuggle up on the sofa and unwind with a movie and sweet treats. Rest up in the elegant bedroom with a plush super king bed and peaceful woodland views. Completing the property is a charming bathroom with a traditional roll-top tub. Outdoors, sink into the wicker chairs, and drink in your scenic surroundings with breakfast on the balcony.

Scope out the scenic village of Debenham (6 miles) perched on the banks of the River Deben and home to an array of friendly pubs and restaurants. Venturing coast-side, listen to the boats clinking in the rippling waters of Orford Quay (22 miles) or saunter along the shingly shoreline of Aldeburgh Beach (25 miles).
