The cottage is situated in a pretty little village and offers easy access to tourist attractions all over the county and is within a few minutes walk of the village pub with great food options. A big 'thank you' to the owners for making us feel so comfortable and for the 'treats' on arrival.

It was perfect for us, holidaying for the first time without kids for several decades. The property was well equipped, comfortable and located in a tranquil small village in the shadow of an impressive Rectory building in which the owners live. Depending on the purpose of your stay, if it's to remain on site, walk to the local pub and relax, it's perfect. If you like to visit local places, you will need a car but the likes of Bath, Wookey Hole caves, Weymouth and Yeovil are all within a 1 hour drive through some lovely countryside and villages so not an issue for us. The owners were very friendly and helpful and there was plenty of information within the property pack detailing local supermarkets, restaurants, things to do, etc. We would definitely recommend booking the carvery on a Sunday at The King's Arms in East Stour - very nice food and friendly staff and owner - we also ate in there during the week to try some of the other dishes on the main menu. A visit to Gold Hill (where the 1970s Hovis ad was filmed) and the abbey in Sherbourne are recommended. All in all, a lovely, well-equipped property in peaceful surroundings which allowed us to relax and recharge from our hectic lives and a good base to go and explore.

Clean, bright and homely from the card and wine left by the owners to meeting her and having her recommendations for local attractions to good places to eat. Great value for money and would return if we go back to that area.
