Snaptrip says

The Old Post Office in Devon is a well-liked cottage, praised for its comfort, quietness, and prime location close to beaches and footpaths. Guests appreciate the property's character and the helpful caretaker, though some noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Cleanliness received mixed reviews. While some guests found the cottage in good order, others reported issues with cleanliness and tidiness, including a significant complaint about having to clean upon arrival. However, these seem to be isolated incidents rather than the norm.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, lovely footpaths, and local amenities. The convenience to South West Coastal Path and the village setting contribute to the high score.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, cosy, and suitable for families, with sufficient space and amenities. Some suggest updates to furniture for enhanced comfort.

Facilities are adequate with some modern additions like a new shower and ceiling fans. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a non-functioning dishwasher and peeling paint, which slightly lower the score.

There is insufficient information to score thoughtfulness. While there is a mention of a welcome pack, it is not clear if this is a standard offering or an isolated gesture, and no other gifts are referenced.

To the front of the cottage you have a little seating area with table and chairs or follow the path to your own lawn where you can fire up the barbecue for alfresco lunches and suppers. This is an excellent location for exploring city and coast, with the sandy beach at Bovisand Bay just a mile from the cottage and the Marine Conservation Centre at Wembury beach, where you can swim and explore the rock pools, not much further. For bright lights, you are just a few miles from the heart of the city of Plymouth where you can eat out, visit the National Marine Aquarium, discover the maritime history or catch a show at the theatre or cinema. water sports enthusiasts will love the well equipped Mount Batten centre beside the marina or stick to dry land to walk the South West Coast Path or play golf along the clifftops. With all this on the doorstep, The Old Post Office is an excellent base for a fascinating break.

Weather was on our side too. We visited Screech Owl Sanctuary and Bodmin Goal, Buckfastleigh Steam Train, Buckfast Abbey, Otter Sanctuary along with Cinema and 10 pin bowling at Barbican. Walk along Bovisands too. Great week.

The help and support of the caretaker was greatly appreciated.

Very convenient for the nearby village facilities, Inn and shop. The Devon/Cornwall coast/Moors, as well as Plymouth are within easy travelling distance although the latter's main roads are of course busy.
