About this property

Set in historic Warfleet overlooking the Creek, this famous Grade II listed building has been a paper mill, a bakery, an outstanding brewery and, most recently, the Dartmouth Pottery. Picturesque Dartmouth is only a 10-15 minute walk from the Pottery, with stunning views of the River Dart along the way, and, in the other direction, you're only a short distance from the Dartmouth Castle and tearooms.

This luxury first floor apartment is accessed from second floor landing of The Pottery building. This leads into the hallway of the apartment with access to all rooms, including a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area. This light and airy area boasts oak flooring and original stone features, and a living area with a large leather L shaped sofa. The dining area has a contemporary glass table and leather chairs, and the modern, well equipped kitchen area has beautiful granite work surfaces. There is an additional utility cupboard housing a washing machine and iron.

The luxurious master bedroom has a King-size bed and en suite shower room, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds (zip and link) that can be made to create one King-size bed. All duvets, pillows, bed linen and hand/bath towels are provided. In addition to the en suite is a luxurious family bathroom.

Adjacent to the property is a small communal seating area, or take a short walk down to picturesque Warfleet where you can enjoy ample benches with waterside views, a small beach and rock pools at low tide. Perfect for a relaxing break.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

We have stayed in some of the other apartments but this was our first in No 8. It was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishwasher tablets, tea towels and washing machine tablets etc. very warm apartment with plenty of hot water. We had been told about the hob engineer's visit and were happy for him to attend, which he did, on time but sadly could not fix the problem there and then. Also missing bath towels were delivered after I enquired. Wonderful apartment in fab location and allocated parking is a gem. We remember The Pottery when it was a pottery with a top floor cafe and loved the building then too. Would certainly like to return and could see us living there, if only

Up to date details of road closures in the area would have been helpful in emails sent to us as the main road from Dartmouth to Warfleet was closed in both directions due to a land slip and no diversions were signposted

It exceeded our expectations. It was super warm and comfortable, with lots of space and a pleasure to come back to after a day exploring. We loved the character of the building and tasteful modern interior. We thought we would miss having a private outdoor space for our dog, but it worked fine popping out to the cove or gravelled area. The sound of the tawny owls at night and peace and quiet was a delight. There was some noise from footsteps from the flat above for a couple of nights, but there was no sound from any other flats despite being on the first floor with three flats on that floor all occupied.
