About this property

A delightful, charming cottage in the peaceful village of St. Minver with beautifully styled interiors that create a calm and comforting feeling, situated just up the quiet lane from the enchanting 12th-century Church. Stokes Cottage offers an idyllic combination as the character of the original cottage has been retained, but thoughtfully updated with tasteful, contemporary furnishings and modern facilities, that complement the original features. From the moment you step into the sitting room, you can relax into your Cornish holiday by kicking off your shoes and sinking into the sofa to recharge after your journey. In the winter months, enjoy this perfect refuge to while away the hours by curling up with a book in the snug armchair in front of a roaring open fire after a bracing coastal walk! Following through into the brand-new kitchen you have all the cooking facilities you need, whether it's to prepare you for the day ahead with a full English breakfast or coming back to a rustle up a hearty family dinner. After a heavenly day at the beach you can retreat to your Cornish bolthole and enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine in the sheltered courtyard, finished with its attractive slate patio and surrounding planting. Upstairs, the characterful master bedroom is graced with natural light flooding in through the sash windows while the bright, airy twin bedroom offers extra adults or children their own cosy space to escape and rest peacefully. The new, modern bathroom provides a stand alone shower and the ultimate convenience of modern facilities to freshen up in.

Within the village of St. Minver, you can potter up the lane to the Fourways pub and refuel with a hearty meal, or venture over to the the local beach at Rock, renowned for its sandy shores out to the Camel Estuary. Here you can hone your skills on the water with Camel Ski School's experiences in water-skiing and sailing or for the more laid back lifestyle, soak up the atmosphere in any of the many local pubs, cafes and restaurants. From Rock you can continue on and explore the coastline with a picturesque walk along the South West Coastal Path around Brea Hill (or up and over for those with a bucketful of energy!) to the spectacular Daymer Bay, Greenaway and Polzeath. A charming hideaway in a great location for enjoying the Cornish coast.

The charming and picturesque civil parish of St Minver is perched along the scenic Cornish Coast. Visitors can enjoy a lovely church with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, a pleasant pub with a tasty pub lunch and a well-deserved pint, a Post Office, and a well-stocked convenience shop. St Minver is an ideal tourist destination for visiting Cornwall, with easy access to the gorgeous Rock beaches and the surfer's paradise of Polzaeath.

Good location....good access to Rock, Polzeath and Port Isacc. Not sure if owner aware, but the pub a few doors down closed a week before we arrived, which was a shame. We partly chose cottage as pub in village....but not much you can do about this. Fyi, we had some difficulties getting hob to work....but did eventually. Perhaps clearer instructions would be helpful. Overall, good quality cottage and would definitely return!!
