Guests say

Farlands is a well-received holiday cottage in Cornwall, praised for its spaciousness, homely feel, and beautiful decoration. Guests have enjoyed its suitability for large families, the views, and the well-equipped kitchen. While some minor issues were raised, such as the need for sharper knives and secure garden for pets, the overall experience has been positive with many looking forward to returning.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to accurately assess this category.

The location is highly regarded with guests enjoying the proximity to Daymer Bay and local walks. The views from the property are also appreciated, contributing to a positive experience.

Comfort is frequently mentioned, with guests finding the house comfortable and well-suited for large groups. However, there were comments about a potentially hazardous bed headboard and the absence of a stair gate for pets, slightly affecting the score.

Facilities are generally praised, such as the kitchen equipment and the outdoor shower. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues like the absence of sharp knives, a BBQ, and a wardrobe door that couldn't be opened, which suggests room for improvement.

The provision of a Christmas tree was a thoughtful touch, although it should be noted that such gestures are not guaranteed. The lack of secure arrangements for pets and the absence of a BBQ, despite being advertised, indicate some oversight in anticipating guests' needs.

About this property

Farlands is a spacious and generously furnished self-catering holiday home, offering immaculate accommodation with lovely views over the tidal waters of the Camel estuary on the North Cornwall coast. With the family friendly Daymer Bay within easy walking distance, Farlands is a fantastic place to enjoy the ultimate Cornish seaside holiday, ideal for large families and groups of friends of up to twelve guests. Farlands benefits from an enclosed, well-planted garden and ample private parking for vehicles and boat trailers, offering a convenient arrival. The spacious sitting room, situated upstairs, feels even larger with its vaulted ceiling and wide French doors, recommended to throw open, leading onto the sunny balcony with its wonderful views. A large games room is a great spot for an inclement day with a pool table and TV, or if the weather allows, relax on a sun lounger, a wonderful spot for outdoor drinks and family entertaining; the outdoor hot shower is luxurious and useful, perfect for rinsing off wetsuits and warming up cold surfers and sailors. The home also features a well-equipped kitchen and utility, a dedicated dining room, five well-appointed bedrooms, a bathroom, and a shower room. Trebetherick is the perfect location from which to explore the treats of the North Cornish coast; choose from the clear calm waters of Daymer Bay, perfect for young children, or the surfer destination of Polzeath, for more exhilarating waves. The village of Rock, just a car journey away, is a fun place to sail, water-ski and paddle board; hire a boat or have a lesson at the sailing or water ski school. Enjoy a ferry ride across to Padstow to experience the feel of a Cornish fishing harbour; while you are here visit Rick Stein for takeaway fish and chips. Escape to the Cornish coastline with a stay at Farlands.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers with the waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.

It is just the comfiest house with everything we could need. All the rooms are spacious and it is so well equipped. I love that there is an area by the front door where we can store stuff, and the utility room is a huge bonus. It makes such a difference staying in a house where there is proper space for everything and everyone, especially when the weather is less than perfect. All in all we had a wonderful stay and we love Farlands! Thank you

We chose Farlands because of its location and it looked good on the website. We were not disappointed when we saw the real thing. The house is absolutely perfect for large groups and had everything in it that we could possibly need. We would certainly consider coming again, perhaps in the spring or summer when we could make use of the terraces and balconies.
