Signal Post in Port Isaac offers stunning views and a prime location. Guests appreciate the spaciousness and the welcome pack, though some noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance. The property's challenging parking and the need for a deep clean were mentioned, but the overall experience remains positive, with many guests enjoying their stay and the amenities provided.
Cleanliness received mixed feedback. Some guests found the property clean with a lovely welcome pack, while others noted it could benefit from a deeper clean, particularly around windows and doors, and mentioned issues with unwashed tea towels and a blocked dishwasher.
The location is highly praised for its perfect positioning and wonderful sea views. Guests enjoyed the proximity to local attractions and the convenience it provided for exploring Port Isaac.
Comfort was generally appreciated with the property being described as spacious and well-equipped. However, some guests mentioned worn furniture and a lack of cosiness, with one review highlighting an uncomfortable mattress.
Facilities were deemed comprehensive, but several reviews pointed out maintenance issues such as non-working appliances, missing items, and the need for updates in the ensuite. The quick resolution of some reported problems was a positive aspect.
Thoughtfulness was evident in the welcome pack provided, which was a pleasant surprise to some guests. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary. Some guests felt that basic provisions upon arrival would have been a thoughtful addition.
Signal Post is a stylish, detached cottage located in the small fishing village of Port Isaac, Cornwall. Nestled on the cliff above the village, the property boasts splendid sea views, and with four bedrooms and three bathrooms it is ideal for a large family holiday. The interior of the house is light and modern; a spacious kitchen/diner contains all the amenities required for a week of self-catering, and two sitting rooms and a sun lounge provide ample space for the whole family to relax in style. Upstairs, there are four generous sized bedrooms; two king-size rooms, one with en-suite shower and WC, and two rooms with twin beds. A sheltered patio terrace is perfect for outdoor dining and for sitting in the evenings and watching the sunset. Port Isaac is a charming village that still has a working fishing harbour, as well as a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. It will be recognisable to many as a filming location used for Poldark and as the fictional village of Portwen from the TV series Doc Martin. Enjoy walks along the South West Coast Path, take a guided tour of the town, or visit the quaint galleries and pottery shops. For a fantastic trip to Port Isaac choose Signal Post.
Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. Iâve been coming to Port Isaac for years and this has got to be the 8th holiday property Iâve stayed in. Location and bonus of parking is a plus what this property lacks is the personal touches, is it too much to have soap in every bathroom and salt/pepper? Out of all the places Iâve stayed Iâve never had to do a shop for the basics in the Co-op when arriving. A 7 hour journey and you canât even make a tea. Disappointing.
