Guests say

Fisherman's Cottage in Ramsgate offers a fabulous location with comfortable beds and tidy interiors. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space and the responsiveness of the owners. The steep stairs are consistently noted, and while some find them challenging, they are clearly mentioned in the property's description. The provision of a dog bed is a thoughtful touch for pet owners.

The property is described as 'beautifully clean' and 'very neat and tidy', indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The location is repeatedly praised as 'great' and 'amazing', with proximity to amenities and a grassy area for dog walking.

Comfortable beds are mentioned positively, but the property is noted to be a bit cramped for six adults, suggesting some limitations in comfort.

Facilities like smart TVs and bathrooms are well-received, but issues with a broken toilet seat and noisy w/c macerator are noted, indicating some maintenance concerns.

The provision of a dog bed is a considerate gesture, but as no other gifts are mentioned and it is not guaranteed for all guests, a score cannot be provided.

About this property

This stylish fisherman’s cottage is situated in the pretty town of Ramsgate, close to the beach and within walking distance of the country’s only Royal Harbour (100 metres). The beautiful harbour has a vibrant yachting community alongside many shops, bars and restaurants, making it a great place to while away an afternoon. Keen walkers can take a stroll along the Viking Coastal Trail which runs from Ramsgate around the Kent coastline to Herne Bay. The route takes in the pretty town of Margate (5 miles) with its famous Turner Contemporary Gallery and Dreamland Theme Park; and Broadstairs, known for being Charles Dickens’ favourite holiday spot, where visitors can learn more about the author at the Dickens House Museum. For a spot of retail therapy, visit Westwood Cross (2 miles), one of Europe’s largest retail parks.

The front door of this period cottage opens into a welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with two comfortable sofas making it a great place to relax and unwind in front of the Smart TV after a busy day out. The stylish kitchen is separated from the lounge by a breakfast bar with stools, lending itself to getting the whole family together for mealtimes or just enjoying a morning coffee. The well-equipped kitchen offers everything you will need for whipping up a delicious evening meal or a light lunch. The ground floor is completed with a shower room and WC. Heading up to the first floor, you will find the first two bedrooms, a double and a single, and a shower room with WC. Stairs from the first-floor landing lead up to the second floor where there is a king-size bedroom. The final bedroom is accessed from the lounge via a set of stairs leading to the lower-ground floor. Here you will find a king-size room with an en-suite WC. All bedrooms are fitted with Smart TVs.

Please note that the staircases are steep and narrow and may not be suitable for the less mobile.

French doors from the kitchen lead out to a small courtyard area where there is a bistro table and chairs – perfect for enjoying a morning coffee.

The location of the cottage is amazing. There is smart tvs in all the bedrooms and the house is very neat and tidy. The stairs are very steep but this is advised in the listing. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back!!
