Larkrise is a well-received cottage in Hampshire, praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and the peaceful environment it offers. Guests have enjoyed the abundant wildlife, including deer and horses, and the proximity to forest walks. The garden and views are consistently appreciated, and the property is described as comfortable and well-equipped, providing a relaxing stay.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with only a few mentioning issues such as dog fur on carpets. The overall high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to the guest experience.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, idyllic setting, and proximity to the New Forest, with guests enjoying the wildlife and local walks. The peaceful and picturesque surroundings are a highlight for many.
The property is generally found to be comfortable, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. However, some guests noted low furnishings and small showers, which affected their comfort.
Facilities are adequate, with a well-fitted kitchen and useful additions like a bike shed. However, there are mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working exterior lights and the need for handrails on steep steps.
While some guests mentioned a welcome pack, there is not enough information to determine if this is a consistent offering or to assess the overall thoughtfulness of the host. Therefore, the score is set to null.

The location of the property is great, easy to get to different places in the forest either by going out through Fordingbridge or dropping down the A31. This property could be amazing if only someone loved it! The windows haven't been cleaned for months, the garden hasn't been maintained all season and half of it is unusable with brambles everywhere and overgrown shrubs. The main bathroom needs the bath removing and a large shower cubicle put in. As it stands, the hand shower cannot be used with linen curtains immediately behind it across a window, no perspex shower screen to stop water entering the bathroom etc. The downstairs shower is tiny, you cannot move your arms away from your body. The open fire is out of commission with a big sign stuck over it. There is a lot of soot on the bricks so it looks like it is leaking? Cobwebs in the kitchen between cupboards and walls, whoever is cleaning it isn't looking above head height I would guess? It's a great shame, with some love and attention this would be a 10 out of 10 property. Be aware if you have dogs with you, they cannot be left, so whilst you can take your dogs it isn't truly dog friendly. Neither are they permitted upstairs. The field is not dog proof and has barbed wire separating the sections so be aware if you let your dogs off. The middle gate is stuck shut for some reason and needs attention. There are deer in the fields on and off all day, along with a resident buzzard who is often sat on the fence posts to the left so keep an eye out!
