About this property

A classy cottage tucked away at the end of a quiet country lane in the very heart of the Peak District.

Aptly named due to the abundance of nuthatches and other birds that nest in the substantial gardens surrounding the property, Nuthatch cottage is every outdoor lover's dream. With its stone flagged floors, glowing log burning stove and elegant kitchen and lounge, this really is the ideal place to retreat to after a day of bird watching and walking in the valleys.

Located in the grounds of a stunning Georgian Mansion, Eccles House, it is tucked away at the end of a quaint little lane with awesome views of the valleys and hills of the Peak District in the background. Take your breakfast, lunch or dinner onto the patio, and sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet. When you’re ready, it’s just a short walk into the bustling village of Chinley, where you will find shops, pubs and even a railway station at your service.

Whether catching a train or going by car, there are so many attractions worth visiting nearby. Explore the famous ‘Blue John’ caverns or Peveril Castle in Castleton, sing in the Opera House at Buxton or get your teeth into a delicious pudding in Bakewell - the list is endless!

We had a good stay at this cottage the surrounding locality was good for walking on Kinder and other Peaks such as Snake Pass and the B29 Bomber walk. The local pubs a short walk away were very good as was the food. The only issue we had was in the mattresses were very uncomfortable other than this we were very impressed when there was an issue with the kettle, this was fixed while we were out.

Absolutely beautiful property, very clean and everything thought of. Nice local pub which did gluten free pizza at the weekend and straight out the door to do a walk up to Eccles Pike. Highly recommend
