There are plenty of varied places to eat including many pubs to choose from. There are and also supermarkets and lots of shops to purchase anything you need. There is parking outside the property, but if these are full there is a carpark about 50yrds away which is free overnight parking after 6pm. This was very useful as we went out hiking everyday to the numerous choice of walks within a 20 minute drive from Buxton. I would thoroughly recommend Robins Roost for this purpose.

The beds were extremely comfortable, all the kitchen equipment worked well and was clean and the shower, although small, was powerful with plenty of hot water. Tv and wifi were fine and the lounge furniture was adequate. However, there was only a clothes rack for storage in the double bedroom and the space was cramped. Although the rear glass extension was a useful storage and drying space Sykes's description of it as somewhere to sit and relax was exaggerated. Unless you wish to sit on folding wooden chairs alongside the freezer, maiden, mop bucket and brushes! We were grateful for the good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and cleaning materials on arrival but had to hoover the gritty floors and abundance of cobwebs throughout the house. On a positive note the house is well placed for the pavillion gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants and the welcome from the local people of Buxton was second to none!
