Guests say

The Old Dairy is a well-appointed cottage praised for its immaculate condition, high standard furnishings, and prime location in Hartington village. Guests enjoyed the proximity to walking routes and local amenities, spaciousness for groups, and the characterful, well-equipped property. Some minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance were noted, but overall experiences were positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Most guests found The Old Dairy to be very clean and well-presented. However, a few reports of cobwebs, food debris, and overlooked areas suggest room for improvement in cleaning standards.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its convenience to the village centre, walking routes, and local pubs. The scenic village of Hartington provides a perfect base for exploring the White Peak area.

Guests consistently mentioned the comfort of the property, highlighting the quality of the furnishings and the beds. The spaciousness for multiple couples and families added to the overall comfort.

The Old Dairy is celebrated for its modern kitchen, games room, and well-equipped nature. Some maintenance issues were raised, such as unreliable showers and missing mirrors, but these were not widespread concerns.

While guests appreciated the welcome pack and the property's equipment, there were no specific mentions of gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to accurately assess the thoughtfulness in terms of gifts, and this score is set to null.

Wonderful location and comfortable clean cottage. Shower in downstairs bedroom was unreliable sometimes v hot and sometimes cold. Basin in upstairs smaller room was difficult to use due to shelf also would be better to have a shower in that bathroom rather than half bath and a spray with no shower curtain. No mirrors in bathrooms. Nobs on drawers in smaller king size bedrooms come off so difficult to open them. No oven gloves provided which was a problem and quite dangerous. No logs provided but we requested these and they arrived as it was cold. Clock needed a battery so we bought one. No milk in fridge on arrival so we had to wait for our shopping delivery before having a cuppa. Good welcome pack provided strange no milk. Was good accommodation and comfy beds but v expensive considering the issues we raised above . I am sure they can be rectified easily. Although noticed several people commented in previous reviews about no mirrors in bathrooms and they are still absent. It is priced at luxury level so was surprised things were not as perfect as they could have been.

Beautiful house in the most charming village of Hartington. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could think of. Plenty of space for 8 and a great dining area with the wow feature of the double staircase. Lovely lounge with comfy furniture, a huge tv, and a log burner. Only lit the log burner one night as we were lucky with the weather ( sunny and warm) - and it certainly added to the ambience in the evening. The beds were heavenly - like sleeping in a cloud - all our family said how comfy they were. The only comment to make really is they need mirrors in the bathrooms. Unfortunately, we had no mobile signal in the area, which made communication difficult - but good Wi-Fi in the property. The gardens really lovely too, we had the tables and chairs out on the lawns - and used the games room in the garage too, a lovely location to explore the area - Lots of walks for the energetic and a lovely place to relax for the not so. A must-visit in the village is the Cheese Shop, and we picked up fresh eggs every day just outside the shop - pay in honesty box . We had a lovely holiday with family from near and far. Definitely recommend.
