Located in the English market town of Ashbourne, this holiday home is well-positioned for a plethora of outdoor activities and amenities, including Dovedale National Nature Reserve, Burrows Gardens, and 555 square miles of wooded dales, open moorland, and flowing rivers at the Peak District National Park. The area is home to a selection of independent shops, pubs, and eateries, including the Michelin-star rated Lighthouse Restaurant, Friends Café, and The Okeover Arms. Staffordshire is a short drive away, where you enjoy a family day out at the exhilarating Alton Towers theme park and Drayton Manor Resort, ice skate at the SnowDome Indoor Snowcentre, and spot exotic animals the Peak Wildlife Park. Further afield you’ll find Bakewell, a traditional market town boasting impressive historic sites and gardens, including the magnificent Chatsworth House, Bath Gardens, and Haddon Hall, all worth a visit. Whatever you decide to do, experience the best of Derbyshire at 22 Washbrook Way.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.

Clean, cosy and comfortable, well equipped. Owner was really helpful and good at communicating. Only negative was on Ashbourne Heights publicity it says there is a cafe on-site,which apparently hasn't been there for years. For some reason when you search it an old page comes up, however there are 2 great pubs a short distance away, and I thoroughly recommend the coffee and cake at The Old Dog. This was just a short walk along the trail from the site.

Very nice site and so peaceful. Good base for touring around the Peak District. No towels were provided which said were included on Sykes website. I contacted the owner and told him about it. He is very helpful and offered to pay for the towels we bought. We had a great holiday at 22 Washbrook Way and would love to stay again in the future.
