Guests say

Guests consistently praise Howgills for its high standard of furnishings, cleanliness, and the thoughtful touches provided by the owner, Katie. The property is well-situated for exploring the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, with many finding it an ideal base for walks and sightseeing. The comfort of the beds and the quality of the facilities are frequently highlighted, contributing to a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Reviewers are unanimous in their appreciation of the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'extremely clean', 'tidy', and 'well maintained'. This indicates a very high level of cleanliness throughout the property.

The property's location is highly regarded for its convenience to the motorway, proximity to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, and the availability of local dining options. It is also mentioned as a quiet place with private parking, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful holiday.

Comfort is a strong point for Howgills, with guests mentioning 'extremely comfortable beds' and a 'comfortable and enjoyable stay'. However, one review mentioned discomfort due to heat and window blinds, slightly impacting the otherwise excellent comfort rating.

Facilities are generally praised for being well-equipped and of a high standard. However, a few minor issues such as weak WiFi, a lack of sufficient glassware for a full occupancy, and non-functioning hall lights suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently acknowledged through mentions of a welcome hamper and baked cakes. While these gestures are greatly appreciated by guests, it should be noted that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very clean & bed comfortable.Good parking. Plenty to do in the surrounding area.. As there were only X2 of us there were enough glasses & mugs but if x4 staying there were only x4 glasses & 4 small mugs. WiFi was very weak & dropping off but did not affect our stay. Hall lights didn't appear to work and could not find a switch we just put a light on in another room. Good information folder in the apartment about places to visit & recommendations on eateries. Thank you.

It was very clean and had everything needed for a stay in this lovely part of the country. Communication with Katie was excellent and the welcome hamper contained some real treats. Some pleasant walks nearby as well as further afield where we saw red squirrels, an owl and even a king fisher. Would definitely recommend Howgills and thanks Katie for the care and attention.

Unfortuantley the blinds and limited openings of the windows made for a furnace of a room and we had trouble sleeping because of this. We still had a great time x
