The Old Stables in Bamburgh offers a comfortable stay with notably comfy beds and a warm, cosy atmosphere. Its location is appreciated for its proximity to local sights and beaches. Guests have enjoyed the welcome hamper, though some felt the property could be better equipped and maintained.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy upon arrival, with rooms described as shiny and spacious. However, there were instances of dirty dishes and carpets, and dog waste in the garden, which slightly marred the overall cleanliness experience.
The property's location is generally praised for being peaceful and close to local attractions, such as Bamburgh beach and nearby villages. The convenience of the location contributes positively to the guests' experiences.
Guests have consistently noted the comfort of the beds and the cosy warmth of the property. The spaciousness and the quality of linens also contribute to a comfortable stay, although some guests mentioned a lack of furniture in bedrooms and bathrooms.
While the property boasts a large kitchen and modern bathrooms, guests have reported issues with maintenance such as non-working lights, appliances, and inadequate kitchenware. These issues have impacted the functionality and convenience of the facilities provided.
The welcome hamper was a pleasant surprise for guests, indicating thoughtfulness. However, the lack of basic amenities like soap, cleaning supplies, and firewood, which are not guaranteed, suggests room for improvement in anticipating guests' needs.

A memorable holiday in tranquil surroundings awaits with a stay at The Old Stables.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

There is a problem with the built in microwave the on off switch is broken it was really hot weather on our week 21st June and we would have benefited from a parasol outside the seating and table were great though. beds very comfortable overall the cottage is stunning had a great stay and look forward to returning next year.PS as dogs are allowed a hose outside would be great to hose the dogs down also our shoes saves trailing sand everywhere although we did use the vacuum occassionaly.
