Longshore is a spacious and well-located cottage in Alnmouth, close to the beach and local amenities. Guests have praised its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and the warmth of the property. The house is suitable for large groups and families, offering a cosy lounge, private courtyard, and well-appointed rooms. While some maintenance issues and kitchen equipment shortages were noted, the overall experience was positive, with efficient communication from the property managers.
The property received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests found the house to be very clean and well-presented, others reported issues with dust, dirty skirting boards, and remnants from previous guests. The majority, however, were satisfied with the cleanliness upon arrival.
The location of Longshore is highly praised, being moments away from a beautiful beach and within the heart of Alnmouth. Guests appreciated the convenience of nearby parking and the peaceful, quiet street, making it an ideal base for exploring Northumberland.
Guests consistently reported that the property was comfortable, with cosy lounges, comfortable beds, and a warm atmosphere. The spaciousness of the property contributed to the comfort level, allowing large groups to stay without feeling crowded.
Facilities at Longshore were generally good, but several guests noted a lack of kitchen utensils and crockery, as well as some maintenance issues like broken blinds and showers. The property managers were responsive to reported problems, but there is room for improvement in ensuring all facilities are up to standard.
There is insufficient information to assess the thoughtfulness of the property in terms of gifts or special touches for guests. No reviews mentioned the presence or absence of gifts, so it cannot be determined if this is a feature of the property.

Having carefully retained its character, the property has been meticulously renovated to offer all the mod cons you would expect from a high end holiday home. The sitting room is no exception with solid wood flooring and an ornamental open fireplace creating a traditional vibe while comfy seating and chic soft furnishings add a stylish finishing touch to the space. The impressive, extended kitchen/diner is sleek and contemporary and yet is still warm and welcoming with a fully fitted kitchen offering everything needed to produce great food for the whole holiday party and with a rustic dining table and chairs adjoining the space, guests can take a seat, pour themselves a glass of their favourite tipple and keep the chef company. When the food is ready to serve up, there is the formal dining room all ready to greet guests with a warming woodburning stove helping to make a great focal point to the room and is somewhere you can imagine spending many happy hours putting the world to rights, drinking, dining and enjoying each other’s company. If the weather allows, then there is a small but perfectly formed sunny courtyard garden where you can carry on the party outside. At bedtime, there are five wonderfully appointed bedrooms to choose from; two super-king-sizes, two king-sizes and a single. The house is well equipped and comfortable. It's a short walk to the beautiful beach and Alnmouth is a lovely village.

The street it is located on is peaceful and quiet. Parking is not great beside the property, it is tight and going to the beach park and leaving your vehicle there would probably be better. The house was very clean and light and airy with comfortable beds. All the basic amenities you need are here. There were only a few grizzles we had, as a house for 8/9 we were only given one bin bag- I mean two wouldnât stretch the earth. There was no soap in any of the bathrooms- Iâve never stayed anywhere that does that- not great from a sanitary perspective. Usually there are some basic ingredients in the cupboard- salt and pepper in particular- come on! I know that you can charge more in high season, but just short of £1000 for 2 nights stay when itâs self catering is overpriced. You could stay at catered accommodation (eg a hotel) for the same or lessâ¦. Something to think about.

Very close to the beach and by far the nicest, quaintest town we found on travelling the area.
