Guests have consistently praised Blackthorn Copse for its beautiful lodge, peaceful surroundings, and high-quality interiors. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with plenty of activities nearby. The thoughtful touches, such as a welcome pack and amenities, contribute to a comfortable stay, although some guests suggested improvements for safety and pet-friendliness.
Reviewers frequently mention the lodge being 'sparkling clean', indicating a very high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The property is commended for its quiet setting with no noise or light pollution, and its proximity to local attractions, making it an excellent location for a peaceful retreat.
The lodge receives high marks for comfort, with guests noting the quality of beds and bathrooms, and the spaciousness of the rooms.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a fully equipped kitchen and en-suite showers. However, some concerns about safety regarding the steps and the lack of a gated outdoor space for children and pets slightly lower the score.
The provision of a welcome pack, including treats for dogs, and small amenities like coffee pods and shower gel, are appreciated by guests. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while delightful, are not guaranteed.

Haverthwaite is a small village and civil parish in the Furness region of Cumbria. It is within the Lake District National Park and is located six miles east of Ulverston, near the southern end of Windermere. The village gets part of its name from the Old Norse word thwaite which usually refers to a clearing or settlement in the forest. Close to the village is Newby Bridge which is at the southern tip of Lake Windermere which takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life.

The accommodation was to a very high standard with everything supplied to ensure a cosy and comfortable stay. The provided welcome pack was a lovely touch.. even the dog got some goodies! Only one suggestion to improve stay would be a safe fenced in area to allow dogs some off lead time. Otherwise I wouldnât change a thing. We will definitely recommend and hopefully return soon
