Guests say

Longlands Milkmaid's Parlour is a quaint cottage praised for its peaceful and beautiful setting, with a delightful walled garden and good access to local walks and the Lake District. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, the pet-friendly policy, and the helpful staff. Some concerns were raised about furniture comfort and maintenance issues, but the charm of the location and the property's character seem to resonate positively with visitors.

Cleanliness has been a concern for some guests, with reports of unclean conditions upon arrival, including the presence of flies and rotting food. However, other reviews suggest that the bedroom and kitchen were very clean, indicating inconsistency in cleanliness standards.

The location is highly praised for its stunning and peaceful gardens, proximity to local attractions, and easy access to walking paths and the fells. The convenience to nearby villages like Cartmel and the overall tranquillity of the setting are consistently appreciated.

Comfort receives mixed reviews; while the cottage is described as cosy and the setting is relaxing, there are several complaints about uncomfortable furniture, particularly the sofa and bed. The presence of a spiral staircase may also pose a challenge for some guests.

Facilities are adequate but have room for improvement. Guests mention well-equipped kitchens and the charm of a gas fire, but also report issues with outdated appliances, lack of heating control, and maintenance concerns such as a non-functional fireplace and missing expected amenities.

There is insufficient information regarding the presence of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Without specific references to such gestures in the reviews, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The gardens and general location are idyllic and only 20 minutes walk into Cartmel.

Then put in a so called up grade to The Coach cottage. On our return to the cottage.......no shower small bath, no fireplace, could not connect to TV, no DVD player to play any disc's that where available. Old furniture needs major upgrade for the price. Tried to contact Martin with NO response. We decided to leave the property immediately and found alternative accommodation. Sent Martin another message to advise him and requested a refund. ONCE again, NO response from him. Very disappointed!!!
