Guests say

Grizedale is a well-received apartment in Kendal, praised for its central location, modern decor, and spaciousness. Guests appreciate the proximity to local amenities, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Some minor issues with navigation and maintenance are noted, but overall experiences are positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests consistently report the apartment as very clean, with only one mention of a temporary issue with bedding and towels that was quickly resolved. The regular cleaner is also commended for her helpfulness.

The central location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, restaurants, and local transport. However, some guests found the one-way system challenging and suggested clearer directions would be beneficial.

The comfort of the beds and the quietness of the apartment are frequently mentioned. Some guests found the sofas a bit low or uncomfortable, and there were issues with a velux blind, but overall the comfort level is rated highly.

The apartment's facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and luxurious bathrooms. Criticisms include unsuitable crockery for microwaving and some maintenance issues like out-of-order EV chargers and a problematic velux blind.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the host, so it is not possible to score this category. However, the owner's responsiveness and helpfulness are noted positively.

Kendal, England is a picturesque market town on the southern gateway to the Lake District, situated on the banks of the River Kent. The 12th-century stone ruins of Kendal Castle dominate the townscape from atop a hill, and the town's charming main street is crisscrossed with charming, cobblestone side streets. Portraits by George Romney, a Kendal native, works by Turner and Ruskin, and more may be found in the permanent collection at Abbot Hall Art Gallery, which also hosts temporary exhibitions because to its connections with the Tate. Limestone escarpments for easy walking offer exhilarating views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills, and Morecambe Bay, while both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its renowned Topiary Garden can be found in close proximity. Kendal is well located for day trips to South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales, and beyond. Kendal is a great place to stay for a vacation because it is centrally located to other attractions including the Lake District National Park, Lake Windermere, and the interesting Quaker Tapestry.

It was perfect for our little one inside and all the facilities were so modern and clean. We have plans to bring the family back by renting the other apartments too. The information once in the flat was very helpful. The only thing I would say to parents is to be aware about the stairs once you enter the front door which can be a little difficult if you need to take the pram inside the property.

We also booked Helton Fell and shared the apartments between us as a group of six, which worked out well. The parking was easy and located just around the corner with good instructions to get there. You can also use the ticket to park in other car parks. There is a great choice of local bars and restaurants and we particularly enjoyed the Brewery Arts for drinks in the sunshine and Comida for tapas. We had a fabulous time and can thoroughly recommend the apartment and the location.

The location was perfect (very central but no noise), the apartment was beautiful (modern and clean) and had everything you needed to make it a home from home. The beds were really comfortable and it was a plus to have a bathroom for each bedroom. Would highly recommend - 10/10.
