Guests say

Buttermere Cottage in Cumbria is praised for its peaceful setting, comfortable and clean accommodation, and beautiful gardens. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches from the owner and the property's suitability for less mobile visitors, though some accessibility issues are noted. The cottage's location offers privacy and is ideal for exploring the northern Lake District, with wildlife and outdoor activities nearby.

Reviews consistently mention the cottage being clean and well-maintained, with only minor comments about cobwebs. The high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to the guests' experiences.

The property is appreciated for its quiet countryside setting and proximity to Lake District attractions. However, some guests noted that shops and pubs are not within walking distance, requiring a short drive.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, with a log burning fire and quality bedding. The open and airy space is also highlighted, although there are some concerns about the stone floors being uneven.

The facilities are generally well-regarded, with quality cooking utensils and a well-equipped kitchen. However, there are comments about the need for better instructions for the wood burning stove, issues with the shower, and some maintenance needed for doors and TV sound.

While guests mention lovely touches like home-grown vegetables and bread on arrival, there is not enough information to assess consistency or guarantee of such gifts. Therefore, a score cannot be provided, but the thoughtfulness of the owner is evident in the reviews.

Accessibility is a very personal and individual thing but this property ticked every box that we needed it to tick. Location is fantastic, Comfort is amazing, Cleanliness is perfect, and the facilities are just above and beyond. We just had a really lovely week that was made possible by a property owner that had took the time to understand different needs and accommodate them. I almost don't want to publish this review because I want to keep this place a secret and always available when I want to visit again - which we definitely will!

Organic bedding, all spotless and comfy beds. Buttermere was in a perfect location to go out and about walking, the owners had included lots of information on walks in the area, very handy. The holiday home was also set in its own pretty grounds with its own little outside area, great for our dog. Would definitely return again to this lovey spot, thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break.

Greeted once settled in by Marna, who checked we had all we needed. Beds and pillows super comfy, loved sitting outside with morning coffee. Would visit again.
