About this property

Tucked away in a rural location in Doonbeg, County Clare is this spacious single-storey holiday home, 2 Ocean View. Boasting all ground-floor accommodation, off-road parking and close proximity to the local amenities and White Strand Beach, 2 Ocean View welcomes eight guests to enjoy a family getaway in Ireland. Upon entering your new home-from-home, be impressed by the large open-plan living space where you and your loved ones can spend quality time together. Allow the designated chef to rustle up a tasty feast in the well-equipped kitchen before settling down to tuck in; take advantage of a host of sumptuous sofas to curl up in front of the open fire and Smart TV, perfect for a movie marathon or catching up on your favourite shows of an evening. If you prefer to spend your evenings alfresco, step out into the front or rear garden and delight in a late-night tipple as you admire the tranquillity of your lovely surroundings. Retreat to the bathroom to wash away the day ahead of completing your evening routine or opt for a king-size bedroom boasting its very own en-suite facilities where you can get ready or wind down in style; the remaining bedrooms include a double, twin and bunk and cater for a wide variety of sleeping arrangements. This stunning family home also provides ideal access to a fabulous beach resort; kickstart your itinerary along White Strand Beach, an idyllic location to sunbathe, paddle the shores or even practise your watersporting skills during the summer months, before venturing to Cloghernaugun Bay Beach or Kilkee Bay, two more stunning coastal destinations. Close by, you can also follow the Doonbeg Castles Heritage Trail, which takes you on a walk-through local history! Golfing enthusiasts will also feel at home with Trump International Golf Links close by, where they can practise their swing whilst soaking in stunning views across the Atlantic. Well-positioned to also explore the Loop Head Peninsula, Vandeleur Walled Gardens, Kilkee Waterworld or try your hand at dolphin spotting, there is plenty to do in this wonderful location. For your next Irish escape, choose 2 Ocean View.

Doonbeg, which is Irish for "little fort," is a town that developed around the ruins of a 16th-century fortress. The hamlet and its surroundings include a decent selection of bars, many of which play traditional Irish music. For golf fans, Greg Norman's Doonbeg Golf Club Course at Doughmore is open for some of the best golf in the world. Try exploring the white sand beaches on horseback or take one of the many local treks that emphasise the area's natural beauty. While the villages of Kilrush and Carrigaholt provide boat cruises for dolphin watching, Doughmore Strand and Spanish Point are recognised for their superb surfing. There are many ways to spend your holiday in this stunning region of Ireland, including fishing, deep sea angling, boat charter, the West Clare Railway, the International Jazz Festival over Whit weekend, and the Willie Keane Memorial, which features traditional Irish music, song, and dance over the weekend of the October bank holiday.

    - Heating wasn't working at arrival day (only 7 degrees celsius) - Owner was friendly and tried to help the next day - some windows in the living room were draughty, so it wasn't that warm in the house anyway - the heating thermostate was remotely controlled the last week - no waste bins are provided which is ok for 1 week, but for a longer holiday its unconvenient

It took 6 days to buy a new fridge which was a huge inconvenience, considering our rural location. Some local information regarding grocery stores close at hand, pubs, local attractions ie walled garden in kilrush. I was told that I would receive a £50, refund for our inconvenience but only received 50 euros. I paid in gbp. The cottage is in a beautiful location. It is modern and has a well equipped kitchen. Just be aware that if any of the appliances break, it may take a while to get a resolution.
