Like everything this year, Easter Weekend is coming early.
Bringing with it bunny-eared cuteness and boat loads of chocolate, the 14th – 17th April is a weekend for family fun and all round excitement (religion aside, spring is in full force, and that’s definitely something to celebrate!) Plus, Monday 17th is the bank holiday, which means more quality time outside of the usual daily grind. And more chocolate. We’ve mentioned chocolate, right?
Which brings us onto our new favourite combination – The National Trust and Cadbury – who are getting together to bring hundreds (250, in fact!) Easter-themed events to the UK. From fancy dress, to Cadbury treats, Easter-themed crafts these events have a bit of everything. Discover our favourite ones below and have yourself a fun-filled Easter weekend with the kids!
14 – 17 April, 10am – 4pm
Delve into a world of fairy tales, myths and legends at Stowe this Easter. Courageous young princesses and knights are invited to embark on a quest through the garden and around mystical lakes. Follow the trail of the brave knight as he finds his love while avoiding the wicked witch and conquering the ferocious dragon. Brave heroes and heroines can claim their delicious Cadbury treat and finish on a happily ever after.

Studland Bay, Dorset
7 – 23 April, 10am – 3pm
Take a bunny hop into springtime on Studland’s Cadbury Egg Hunt. Follow the clues around the nature reserve and see the world through Bunny’s eyes, then collect your delicious Cadbury treat at the end. Why not make a day of it and explore the bay afterwards? With miles of wild heathland and sandy beaches to discover it’s perfect for a nature walk and a splash in the sea.
14 – 17 April, 10am – 4pm
In 1957 the National Trust began looking after Saltram, making 2017 its 60th birthday. To celebrate, Saltram is stepping back in time to the 1950s for a vintage-style Easter egg hunt. Head down to this magnificent mansion for a hunt around the garden and to claim your delicious Cadbury treat at the finish line.

Blickling Hall, Norfolk
14 – 17 April, 10am – 3pm
When spring is in the air, it’s time to dust off those winter cobwebs and have an outdoors adventure. Head out on this special hunt around Blickling’s 55-acre gardens to discover the creatures that live on the estate. Once you’ve found them, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious Cadbury treat. Keep the fun going afterwards and enjoy a family picnic, or see if you can build a secret den in the woods.

Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire
14 – 17 April, 11am – 4pm
Get outdoors this Easter and enjoy hunting all around the Hardwick Hall house, garden and along Lady Spencer’s wood in the ever-popular Cadbury Egg Hunt. There will be a delicious Cadbury treat waiting for you at the end of the hunt. Stick around afterwards for a spot of nature-themed Easter crafts or head to the family woodland play area for a run around and a picnic.

Gibside, Tyne & Wear
14 – 18 April, 10am – 4pm
Explore the wild landscape at Gibside and follow the Cadbury Egg Hunt clues to find a delicious Cadbury treat at the end. Plus, don’t miss the annual Mouse House Building Competition taking place each day. Go wild and search for sticks, twigs and leaves to create a dream mouse house and be in with the chance of being crowned the champion builder of the day.

Sticklebarn and The Langdales, Cumbria
14 April – 17 April, 12pm – 4pm
The naughty Langdale Herdy lambs have taken some of the Easter Bunny’s chocolate eggs and hidden them all around Stickle Ghyll. Now it’s your mission to follow the clues and see if you can find them. Bunny will be so grateful that he’s sure to reward you with a delicious Cadbury treat at the end.
Penrhyn Castle, Gwynedd
14 – 17 April, 10.30am – 3.30pm
Penrhyn is a ‘hive’ of activity this Easter bank holiday weekend. The new honey bees have moved into the walled garden and have been busy helping Bunny hide his clues amongst the flowers and trees around the castle. Can you help him and claim your delicious Cadbury treat? As well as helping Bunny you can learn more about Penrhyn’s new nectar gathering friends during bee talks and tuck in to some honey products in the café.

Bodiam Castle, East Sussex
1 – 17 April, 11am – 4pm
Calling all brave knights and dragon hunters. This Easter Bodiam Castle needs your help. Rangers have found some unusual eggs hidden around the grounds, and after expert examination they believe they’re dragons’ eggs. Help find all the eggs to save the castle from a fiery end and receive a delicious Cadbury treat!
