The location is frequently highlighted as perfect, stunning, and ideal for exploring Harris & Lewis, despite the remote setting and the drive required for provisions.

Built around an inlet on Loch Fyne, Tarbert has long been both a harbour and a key strategic point in the history of Scotland's rugged West Coast. Tarbert once required three castles to protect it, and the ruins of one of these can still be visited today. Built around the natural harbour, fishing and sailing continue to play an important part in the life of the village. There are many annual events to interest all tastes including the sailing regatta on Loch Fyne, seafood and music festivals. The 87 mile Kintyre Way stretches from Tarbert to the south of the Kintyre Peninsula, and offers walking for all levels and with ferry connections to Islay and Arran, there is simply no better location to relax and explore this rugged and picturesque part of Scotland.

Surrounded by sheep! The cottage was Incredibly well stocked with provisions and almost every utensil ever made. Cottage modern and lovely inside. 14 mile single track road more like a roller-coaster to reach it. Pure solitude. Well worth driving around Harris and Lewis.

The cottage is very well equipped with everything we needed. The fittings were a high standard. I can’t think of a thing to criticise. An opportunity to stay here again will be grasped without hesitation.
