Snaptrip says

Nathaniel's Cottage in Kirkcudbright is a charming property praised for its comfort, prime location, and homely feel. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as flowers and welcome treats, and the property's proximity to local amenities and craft shops. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with several guests finding it spotless and comfortable. However, there are instances of guests encountering issues such as greasy pans, a dirty window ledge, and ants, which slightly lower the score.

The location is highly praised for being close to the town centre, shops, and amenities, with easy parking and a quiet setting. Its convenience and proximity to attractions contribute to a high score.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the beds and the cosy atmosphere of the cottage. Some concerns about low sofas and winter duvets in summer suggest room for improvement, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped. However, feedback about the need for maintenance, such as fixing a broken gutter, updating sofas, and addressing a rusty shower rack, indicates that some facilities could be enhanced.

Guests often express gratitude for the thoughtful gestures, including welcome treats and flowers. While these are appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

However when we arrived there was no power to the plug sockets in the kitchen so the fridge was off, we called the property manager who advised us the fuse box was above the front door and advised us to stand on a chair to reach it. 4 days into our trip there was no hot water so another call and text to the property manager who advised us to switch the boiler off and on to reset it, we then had to do this continuously a couple of times a day until we left. There was also a problem with ants in the kitchen, which we resolved and the owner kindly offered to reimburse us for the food we lost.

Unfortunately the overall impression we got was that it was all a little tired - wonky drawer in one of the bedrooms, kitchen units were a bit weary, lovely looking shower but the water pressure was really disappointing. Just a bit more effort on cleaning and maintenance and this would have been a five star gem.
