A lovely end-terrace cottage close to the centre of the popular Dumfries and Galloway town of Kirkcudbright. Ideally located for exploring both this attractive town and the surrounding coast and countryside, this delightful cottage is ideal for a family or friends looking for a relaxing breakaway. Relax in the sitting room around the cosy woodburning stove, whilst catching up on your favourite TV programmes, and next door is the dining room where a warming home-cooked meal prepared in the kitchen can be enjoyed. The bedrooms can accommodate up to four people with a twin room and a super king-size double. Completing the accommodation is a stylish shower room with the addition of underfloor heating. Outside there is a bench in a pleasant little suntrap and is a tranquil spot to enjoy a barbecue. A short stroll brings you to the centre of Kirkcudbright, known as the Artists Town, as it has attracted many well-known artists over the years. Wander around the harbour or visit McLellans Castle or Broughton House. Have a day at the beach at nearby Dhoon or take advantage of the superb walking and cycling that this lovely part of Scotland has to offer. However when we arrived there was no power to the plug sockets in the kitchen so the fridge was off, we called the property manager who advised us the fuse box was above the front door and advised us to stand on a chair to reach it. 4 days into our trip there was no hot water so another call and text to the property manager who advised us to switch the boiler off and on to reset it, we then had to do this continuously a couple of times a day until we left. There was also a problem with ants in the kitchen, which we resolved and the owner kindly offered to reimburse us for the food we lost.

Unfortunately the overall impression we got was that it was all a little tired - wonky drawer in one of the bedrooms, kitchen units were a bit weary, lovely looking shower but the water pressure was really disappointing. Just a bit more effort on cleaning and maintenance and this would have been a five star gem.
