About this property

A traditional stone-built cottage sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms, close to the popular village of Askrigg with its tea rooms, Dales pubs and local shop.

This stone built traditional Dales cottage sleeping up to six in three bedrooms is tucked away on a `no through' lane between the villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg.  The property dates back to 1604. Luke’s House is a well-equipped cottage and boasts character and charm at every turn with beamed ceilings, window seats, stained glass windows and a Inglenook fireplace featuring a solid fuel stove which is ideal to cosy up in front of after a busy day exploring the Yorkshire Dales.  The south facing garden is ideal for dining al fresco in the summer months and has uninterrupted views over the fields and the Dale beyond.  This would make an ideal property for families or groups of friends looking to holiday together in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We really enjoyed the cottage. Bathrooms not amazing but function well enough. All bedrooms and beds very comfortable. We like to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped. Just wish the table was bit bigger to seat 6 more comfortably for family feast! Open fire was lovely! Really nice to have welcome of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Toilet and kitchen rolls provided, as well as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and sachets for a wash in the machine. Very nice location for walks and places to visit.

A lovely house in a remote location but not too far from the villages and towns. We had a comfortable holiday and enjoyed the wildlife both around the house and in the local area.
